Χθες μας επισκέφτηκαν η Υφυπουργός Παιδείας Δρ Δόμνα Μ. Μιχαηλίδου και η Αν. Συντονίστρια του Γραφείου Εκπαίδευσης Λονδίνου Δρ Ειρήνη Βερώνη. Παρευρέθηκαν γονείς, δάσκαλοι και μαθητές από τις 3 σχολικές μονάδες του Λονδίνου (Νηπιαγωγείο - Δημοτικό - Γυμνάσιο/Λύκειο) και συζητήσαμε θέματα που απασχολούν τα σχολεία μας. Μας τιμά η δέσμευσή τους και ανυπομονούμε να συνεργαστούμε για να επικοινωνήσουμε τις απίστευτες ευκαιρίες που παρέχονται στα παιδιά της ελληνικής κοινότητας μέσω της ελληνικής παιδείας.

Yesterday we were visited by Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Domna M. Michaelidou and the Deputy Education Counsellor in London, Dr. Eirini Veroni. We were joined by parents, teachers, and students from all 3 greek schools in London (preschool - primary - secondary) We are honored by their commitment to our schools, and look forward to working together to raise awareness of the incredible opportunities available to the children in our greek community through the greek education.

Οι μαθητές μας επισκέφτηκαν το Μουσείο της Βασιλικής Αεροπορίας όπου είδαν ιστορικά αεροπλάνα, έμαθαν για πιλότους και βίωσαν προσομοιώσεις πτήσης!

Professor Kostas Dimopoulos, a cosmologist at the University of Lancaster, spoke at our school today! Our students were enthralled by his presentation on black holes and wormholes. It was an excellent opportunity to talk about these topics with an expert, and to see what is possible to understand through scientific research!

Yesterday we had the privilege of welcoming some of our friends from the Japanese School in London to our campus! Together with their guests, our students presented information about Greece, sang and played Japanese songs, took part in traditional Greek dance (which was quite a spectacle! 🤩), practiced drawing anime, folded origami, and crafted mixed-media wreaths. During recess students from both cultures played basketball and tag together! It was an exciting day full of cultural exchange, and one we are very grateful for!

Χάρη στους γενναιόδωρους υποστηρικτές μας, σήμερα κάναμε μια εκδρομή στο Kew Gardens για το δημοτικό και το νηπιαγωγείο! Σε αυτόν τον καταπληκτικό βοτανικό κήπο οι μαθητές μας εξερεύνησαν με μεγάλο ενδιαφέρον τη χλωρίδα διαφορετικών περιοχών του πλανήτη. Ευχαριστούμε πολύ τους ακούραστους δασκάλους και τους εθελοντές γονείς που βοήθησαν!

Ευχαριστούμε κυρία Μαριλίτα! Οι μαθητές μας με χαρά βρήκαν πολλά σοκολατένια αυγά κρυμμένα γύρω από το σχολείο μας!

Egg coloring was highly amusing this year. The eggs turned midnight blue to the delight of our students!

Our Lambathes are ready! The students enjoyed expressing their personalities by creating custom candles to light at the Holy Saturday church service. They used brightly colored string, patterned tape, markers, and decorative ornaments to spruce up their white candles!

Σήμερα είχαμε μια καταπληκτική μέρα! Ευχαριστούμε, Τόνια, που έδειξες στους μαθητές μας πώς να φτιάχνουν παραδοσιακά πασχαλινά κουλουράκια. Ήταν τέλεια! Η συνταγή είναι στις φωτογραφίες για όποιον θέλει να τα φτιάξει και στο σπίτι.

40% of young people in the UK have experienced bullying in the last 12 months. This is a heartbreaking statistic. Bullying victims often experience depression and self harm. They face barriers to learning and sometimes strained relationships with their families.

Today, as part of Anti-Bullying week, our students discussed bullying and ways to support each other. I hope that our children take this wisdom out into the world and make a positive change, leading by example and creating a culture of inclusion and acceptance.

Yesterday, 11th of March, our school hosted the “Pythagoras” math competition organized by the Hellenic Mathematics Association. We are proud to announce that our students in years 2-6 performed brilliantly, with the majority scoring over 75% on this very challenging exam!

Today our year 3 students learned about Roman history at the British Museum!

Για την εθνική επέτειο της 25ης Μαρτίου, οι μαθητές μας παρουσίασαν θεατρικές παραστάσεις και τραγούδια για να τιμήσουν τους ήρωες και τις ηρωίδες της επανάστασης του 1821. Ακολούθησε η παρέλαση στο προαύλιο του σχολείου. Με τη βοήθεια των δασκάλων, οι μαθητές μας έδειξαν την ευγνωμοσύνη τους για αυτούς που πάλεψαν για να έχουμε εμείς σήμερα την ελευθερία μας.

The end-of-year performance was a beautiful and inspiring event! Our students performed drama, songs, and dance to the delight of their families and friends in the audience!

Our school's field trip to Saint Nicolas' Church was a wonderful opportunity to experience the Greek Orthodox Church in London and connect with the religion that has deeply shaped our culture!

Our nursery school students creatively engage with nature as they build a miniature campground from foraged materials outside the school!

Apokries - Carnival Time! Students and their families celebrated with delicious food, games, and dancing!

The Nursery School had a fabulous time on their field trip to the Japanese School. They danced, sang, and played traditional Japanese games with the school's students. We are very thankful for this cultural opportunity!

Σίγουρα έχουν χυθεί τόνοι μελάνι και έχουν σπαταληθεί αμέτρητες ανθρωποώρες για τον ορισμό της έννοιας Ελευθερία. Οι μαθητές του νηπιαγωγείου δεν μπορούσαν να μείνουν αμέτοχοι σε αυτή την προσπάθεια και έτσι απέδωσαν την έννοια Ελευθερία με τον πλέον κατανοητό τρόπο, με μια εικόνα. Καταπληκτική δουλειά!

Οι μαθητές του δημοτικού σχολείου με τη χρήση πολυμέσων, παρουσίασαν επιλεγμένα θέματα σχετικά με την Ελληνική Επανάσταση του 1821! Πολλά Συγχαρητήρια!
