What better way to celebrate a birthday than in the woods with a lifelong friend? 🌿πŸ”₯

These two friends have shared over 20 years of friendship and decided to celebrate their birthdays together by stepping away from the busy world and into nature for a private bushcraft experience with Wildeye Adventures.

Throughout the day, they learned practical outdoor skills including hammock and tarp shelter building, fire lighting techniques, bushcraft knife work, and gained a deeper understanding of woodland ecology. From identifying trees, plants and fungi to creating a campfire from natural materials, it was a day filled with learning, laughter and nature.

Wildeye Adventures offers private Half Day, Full Day and Overnight Bushcraft & Survival Courses across London, Buckinghamshire and Kent.

Meet Jeni πŸ’šπŸŒΏ

I'm delighted to share that I have recently symbolically adopted Jeni, a young Bornean orangutan, through the wonderful work of Borneo Orangutan Survival UK - BOS UK

Orangutans are among our closest relatives in the natural world, yet their rainforest homes continue to face immense pressure from deforestation, habitat loss and the illegal wildlife trade.

By supporting Jeni's adoption, I am helping to contribute towards the rescue, rehabilitation and protection of orangutans, as well as the conservation of the precious rainforest ecosystems they depend upon.

Having spent time in tropical rainforests and learned from indigenous communities who live closely with nature, I have seen firsthand how interconnected everything is.

Protecting orangutans is not just about saving a species; it is about safeguarding entire ecosystems, cultures and a way of life that has existed for generations.

Welcome to the Wildeye Adventures family, Jeni πŸ™πŸΌπŸ˜Š

May your future be wild, free and filled with rainforest adventures. πŸ’š

As darkness settles across the Sahara, life gathers around the fire.

The day's journey is over. Camels rest, tea is poured, and the first stars begin to appear above the dunes. The fire brings warmth, light, food, conversation, and a sense of togetherness in a landscape that can feel endless.

This is the rhythm of nomadic life, moving with the land, sharing stories beneath the stars, listening to the drums echo across the desert night and watching the Milky Way emerge overhead in extraordinary clarity.

There is something timeless about these moments. No distractions. No rush. Just firelight, friendship and the vastness of the Sahara.

Join Wildeye Adventures this September and experience the desert through the eyes of the nomads who call it home.

Fire Lighting Skills in Action πŸ”₯

A fantastic bushcraft birthday celebration in the woods with Wildeye Adventures 🌿

The young adventurers learned how to safely use fire steels, gathered natural tinder from the woodland floor and discovered one of humanity's oldest survival skills, creating fire from a single spark.

Watching the excitement on their faces as the first flames appeared is always pure fire magic. Fire lighting is about much more than making a fire; it develops patience, confidence, focus and respect for the natural world.

A memorable day of woodland adventure, teamwork and learning around the campfire. πŸ”₯🌳

A heartfelt thank you to Heart of Sevenoaks 🌿

We are incredibly grateful to Heart of Sevenoaks for featuring Wildeye Adventures in their recent online Summer 2026 issue.

As a small independent outdoor education company, it means a great deal to have the opportunity to share our passion for bushcraft, survival skills, forest bathing and nature connection with the wider Sevenoaks community.

Since 2016, our mission has been simple: to help people step away from busy modern life, reconnect with the natural world and rediscover confidence, wellbeing and adventure through meaningful outdoor experiences.

Thank you to the Heart of Sevenoaks team for supporting local businesses and helping spread the message that nature has the power to inspire, educate and bring people together.

We look forward to welcoming more individuals, families, schools and community groups into the woods in the months ahead.

With gratitude,
Wildeye Adventures πŸ”₯

🌿 A great day sharing bushcraft and survival skills with a fantastic corporate team at

As if on cue, just as the shelter-building challenge began, a huge storm cloud rolled overhead and gave everyone a real taste of the outdoors! 🌧️

Thankfully, the team rose to the challenge, and within 30 minutes the rain had passed and the sunshine returned. β˜€οΈ British weather certainly knows how to keep us on our toes!

They took part in shelter building, making water filters and camp fire creation.

Bushcraft is a powerful way to strengthen teams, encouraging communication, problem-solving and collaboration in a natural environment. From building shelters and working together as a tribe, to sharing stories and positive energy around the campfire, it's amazing to see how quickly people connect when they step away from the office and into nature.

Creating something from nothing. Building resilience together. Strengthening community through shared experiences. πŸ”₯

πŸ”₯ Learning to light a fire is about so much more than creating a flame.

Every spark teaches patience. Every failed attempt teaches determination. Every ember reminds us that progress takes time.

One of the most valuable lessons in bushcraft is understanding that everyone learns at their own pace. Some people create a flame within minutes, while others need a little longer. Neither is right or wrong. The journey is different for each person and the real achievement is refusing to give up.

This weekend we were fortunate to have perfect fire-lighting conditions, dry woodland, dry tinder and almost no wind. Ideal conditions for learning the foundations.

But nature doesn't always make it easy.

Try lighting a fire in heavy rain, with cold hands and a strong wind stealing your heat and you'll quickly discover that fire lighting becomes a lesson in resilience, focus and problem-solving. It tests your mindset as much as your skill.

Bushcraft has a way of revealing what we're capable of. It encourages us to slow down, stay present, adapt to challenges and trust the process.

Sometimes the greatest fire we ignite isn't the one in front of us, it's the confidence, patience and self-belief that grows within us along the way.

Recently adopted an orangutan from 😁
Very pleased to support their amazing work.
I've been blessed to observe Orangutans when traveling to the rainforests of Indonesia and Borneo.

Borneo Orangutan Survival UK is an organisation dedicated to protecting critically endangered orangutans and preserving the rainforests they call home.

Their work focuses on rescuing, rehabilitating and releasing orangutans back into the wild, while also protecting vital forest ecosystems across Borneo.

The organisation works closely with local and Indigenous communities, supporting sustainable livelihoods, environmental education and conservation initiatives that help both people and wildlife thrive together. 🌿🦧

By adopting an orangutan, I’m proud to be supporting the protection of these incredible beings and the communities working to safeguard their future. Every orangutan saved is also a step towards protecting one of the most biodiverse ecosystems on Earth. πŸ’šπŸŒ

Looking forward to returning to 2026 πŸ”₯

Wildeye will be hosting dreamcatcher making workshops and a forest bathing session in the woods 🌳

This year Wildeye Adventures has connected with the Women in Bushcraft community ✨

Apparently, there will be lots of contestants from the show Naked and Afraid hanging around...

My mission: get one of them to come to Morocco this September time on the Sahara Desert Expedition. Now that would be cool. Let the hunt begin...

Will be looking forward to catching up with everyone there and hopefully meeting new faces too 😁 See you all soon for some campfires vibes πŸ”₯
