As a Venture Capitalist (posh name for company investor) I am most excited by a great investment opportunity, but I get a tonne of really “poor pitches” on a weekly basis (usually via LinkedIn).

👉🏼 So here are 5 tips to help those pitching a VC like me:

🤩 understand or ask about the areas of investment INTEREST for that VC. For example I like AI, Healthcare, ESG projects, FinTech included…so DON’T pitch a casino or retail clothing venture.

🤩Understand what the values of the VC are - why they do what they do! (Their philosophy)

🤩Do your Due Diligence really really well! Know all your numbers, comparables and EXIT plans.

🤩Be HONEST - don’t overinflate numbers or your abilities, that will kill all negotiations.

🤩Evaluate RISKS in your revenue models…I literally “switch off” if someone tells me there are no risks involved!
