We set out on a walk along the Thames in Putney. It’s the Boat Race today. Safie on great form as per usual nominated by a local as the friendliest dog she’s ever met. It’s how she rolls this hound.

Another great journalist another great voice!
Listening to Jeffrey Sachs cuts through the noise—calm, precise, and unwilling to look away. Whether you agree with him or not, that level of scrutiny matters. Alongside voices like Yanis Varoufakis, Mehdi Hasan, Ana Kasparian, Max Blumenthal, and platforms such as Democracy Now!, MeidasTouch, and The Grayzone, there’s a reminder here: we are responsible for where we get our information. In a time of noise and distortion, choosing to engage with long-form, questioning, and uncomfortable perspectives isn’t passive—it’s a moral act. It shapes how we see, and ultimately, how we respond.

A state introducing the power to execute people it holds—within a system already criticised for inequality, coercion, and near-total conviction rates—should alarm all of us.
When the threshold for taking a life is set inside a structure that many argue is not equally just, this stops being about law and starts looking like power over who gets to live and who doesn’t.
The Knesset may call it justice.
But many are asking whether justice can exist under these conditions at all.
A baby with cigarette burns.
A mother shot while holding her child.
Bullets fired around her so no one dares to help.
And here, in Britain, a woman arrested—again and again—for words.
What are we becoming?
There’s something happening to us, not just over there—but in here.
A slow numbing.
A turning away.
As if repetition makes horror easier to live with.
In my world, we speak of the evolving self.
But a self evolves in relationship to its environment.
So what does a psyche become
when it is surrounded by violence,
by silence,
by distortion?
This isn’t distant.
This is shaping us.
And for those living it—not reading it, not scrolling past it—
this isn’t trauma after the fact.
This is ongoing.
Relentless.
A nervous system that never gets to come down.
We should be asking harder questions.
Not just about politics.
About humanity.
Because something is being lost.

“Toxic femininity” didn’t build systems where women are routinely violated, silenced, or killed.
It didn’t create the conditions behind the Jeffrey Epstein case.
Let’s stay with reality.
The global pattern of violence against women is not born from femininity—it is rooted in toxic masculinity, patriarchy, and misogyny.
Naming this isn’t about blame.
It’s about clarity.
And without clarity, nothing changes.
