🐮🦁🐧 Our Animal Adventures! 🐧🦁🐮

What an exciting month we’ve had in Bumblebees, exploring the wonderful world of animals and their different habitats! 🌍🐾

We started our animal adventures on the farm, where we explored lots of different farm animals. We had fun placing the animals’ facial features where we thought they belonged and learning about the different sounds they make. We especially loved pretending to be little piggies, sheep and cows! 🐷🐑🐮

Next, we travelled to the jungle! 🌿🦁🐯 We went on a lovely walk to collect leaves for our jungle display board and created our own artwork inspired by the beautiful colours of tigers and lions. 🎨🍃

We then journeyed all the way to the Arctic! 🧊🐻‍❄️ We enjoyed making our own Arctic pictures and had lots of fun trying to rescue the animals trapped in the ice. This gave us plenty of opportunities to explore, investigate and problem-solve through play. ❄️🐧

We also had a very special Grandparents’ Day! 💕 It was lovely to welcome some of our grandparents into nursery. We enjoyed spending time together, playing and creating our very own special picture frames to remember the day. 🖼️❤️

It has been a fantastic month full of imaginative play, creativity, sensory exploration and lots of animal adventures! 🐾🌎✨

This month, in Caterpillars room we have been exploring the wonderful “That’s Not My…” books and sharing some of our favourite stories together. We’ve been getting hands-on with our learning by:

🧸 Sticking string onto our teddy bears
👋 Exploring our textured tiles and talking about how they felt
🌈 Enjoying lots of sensory trays inspired by the characters and stories
📖 Sharing and enjoying our favourite books together

We have also been discovering all the changes that autumn brings! 🍁🍂 We headed out to the park to collect beautiful autumn leaves, which we then used to create our very own hedgehog pictures. 🦔

Our autumn-themed sensory trays have been a big hit too, giving us lots of opportunities to explore, investigate and talk about the season around us. We also had lots of fun decorating different animals for our lovely autumn display. 🐿️🦊🍁

It’s been a busy month full of exploring, creating, discovering and learning through play — and we’ve loved every minute! 💕🍂

🍅🌱 From our garden to our plates! 🌱🍅

The children have had so much fun growing their very own tomatoes at nursery! They’ve loved watching them grow from tiny plants into delicious, juicy tomatoes. 🥰

We’ve recently been enjoying tasting and eating our homegrown produce, and the children have been so proud of what they’ve grown themselves! 🍅❤️

And the best part… there are many more tomatoes to come! 🌱🍅

What a wonderful way to learn about growing, caring for plants and where our food comes from. 🌿👩‍🌾👨‍🌾

📚✨ Literacy Day in Bumblebees! ✨📚

Today in Bumblebees Room, we had a wonderful time celebrating Literacy Day! 🐝📖

The children brought in some of their favourite stories from home, and we enjoyed sharing and reading them together. We practised taking turns and listening to our friends as we explored all the lovely stories. 📚❤️

We also had lots of fun singing our favourite nursery rhymes and songs, choosing which ones we wanted to sing along to. 🎶 We copied actions, followed dance routines and had lots of fun moving to the music! 💃🕺

It was a fantastic day full of stories, songs, dancing and smiles, all while celebrating our love of literacy and learning. 🌟📖

🎉🌿 9 years today! 🌿🎉

Today we’re celebrating 9 wonderful years of our nursery! 💕 What a journey it’s been, filled with little smiles, big milestones and so many special memories.

A huge thank you to all our amazing families and our incredible team for being part of it. Here’s to many more happy years! 🥰🎈

In Caterpillars room, during the month of August we have been looking at "on the farm" we had great fun decorating our farmyard animal using sticking, printing with bubble wrap and dabbing with paint. We've used our fine motor skills to rescue the animals trapped in Sellotape, we also slotted the pasta shells through the mouth of the farm animals. We've searched for the animals in the shredded paper and we looked at what vegetables grow in the mud. We've also sang old McDonald using our finger puppets

This month in Bumblebees room, we have been focusing on activities involving summer. At the start of the month, we had some bees come and visit our sunflowers as we watched them get their food. We have been checking on our vegetables and have found some runner beans and carrots. We made our own tuna pasta using different equipment, and using our fine motor skills, we learnt how to squeeze the bottle and pick up the sweetcorn. We tried new foods from all around the world, including soda bread. We made our own eclipses using tissue paper, and the older ones used scissors to cut them out. We also made our very own Elmers to celebrate our participation in Elmer's big walk, and we've been going for walks around the park.

This month in Butterflies and Sunflowers has been quite eventful! We’ve engaged in a wonderful assortment of healthy activities, including making our own hummus, which the children enjoyed with their tea. They had a great time mixing the ingredients and squeezing the lemon, using their fine motor skills. We also celebrated World Food Week by exploring different meals from around the world for lunch, and created pretend pizzas with playdough, where the children added various textured toppings.

During snack time, we savoured some French baguette, which was a hit! Additionally, we celebrated the solar eclipse by creating our own pictures using black card and chalk. The children enthusiastically discussed this event, learning about when it would occur and how to protect their eyes.

We’ve been actively exploring our interests, including building, dressing up, and enjoying storytime. This month, we also participated in the August Elmer Challenge, walking to nursery, and the children have loved adding stickers to our map, alongside taking part in some Elmer-themed painting activities 🖌️🎨🍕🍓🐘🌙
