Masayuki Tayama, Director of the PTC UK, has a wide-ranging and varied career that has taken him across the world, performing and teaching 😄 However, as a student, he experienced the difficulties of not being taught proper technique and now specialises in the Sumiko Mikimoto method of muscle relaxation and training for pianists. He has taught the next generation of young pianists at Chetham’s School of Music, and strongly advocates the importance of good technical foundations for musical progress and freedom.

For the third and final event on December 4th as part of our Piano Teachers' Course series in collaboration with Practising The Piano, Masayuki will be hosting a live workshop on Technique for Musical Freedom.
