Remember the victims of the 1940 Katyń massacre. 22,000 Poles were executed on the order of Stalin.
This author of the drawing - Zdzisław Beksiński, was murdered in Warsaw 16 years ago, a few days before his 76th birthday. He was a painter specialising in dystopian surrealism. The painting "Katyń" is one of the most famous depictions of the atrocity.
