I was privileged to see this beautiful film at its premiere in Cannes, where its director, Simón Mesa Soto captured the Jury Prize in the Certain Regard. Simón was my student in Colombia, and a graduate of the London Film School. 'A Poet' is a wonderful piece of Neo-Neo Realism, with masterful handling of non-actors in a fiction film. I highly recommend seeing it when it comes your way.
