INTRODUCTION
Cheeky Chops Childcare is my own home run setting in Gravesend. I, Samantha Jane Johnson decided to become an OFSTED registered childminder after many years of working with in the child care sector. I share my home and setting with my husband & three children Jack (28), Lucy (24) and Zadie-May (15) these three were another reason for becoming a childminder from home as I am was able
to be a full time mummy as well. I began my career as a childminder many years ago. I have worked with many families and have enjoyed watching the children grow and develop. I have worked as a supervisor in a private nursery working with the Early Years Foundation Stage. I was in charge of the baby room whilst at the nursery and had babies from 6weeks to 3 years of age. During my years I have gained experiences with various special needs and am willing to undergo any relevant training to help children in my setting. I have worked with children Asperger’s Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD and challenging behaviours. I, also have some experience with baby sign as whilst at the nursery I worked along with the parents of twin boys with hearing problems. I am paediatric first aid trained and have all of the relevant insurances that are required. I belong to PACEY which keeps me up to date with all the latest legislation. They also provide us with all the information that I require to run My business efficiently. I work together other child minders, attending classes at our local sure start centres and plan activities to enable children in my care to develop and to get those young ones ready for they transition into school. I mainly focus on early years education and have a curriculum which I follow, I find working with the EYFS rewarding and every day is a new challenge. My hours are term time from 6am until 6pm and I offer all areas of the government funding during the hours of 9 - 3, term time only.
