With rain unfortunately forecast for the day of our Summer Concert, the event was moved indoors to the school hall this year, but it certainly didn't dampen the mood! 🎶

We enjoyed wonderful performances from our pupils on the piano, violin, guitar, drums and more, alongside beautiful solo singing and fantastic songs from our Junior and Senior Choir. 🎻

Well done to all of our talented performers, you made it a truly memorable evening!

What an adventure! Our Years 4, 5 and 6 pupils recently enjoyed an unforgettable residential trip to Gulliver's Land, packed with exciting activities, laughter and plenty of fun!

From archery and bushcraft to farm visits, discos and theme park rides, the children embraced every challenge and represented the school brilliantly throughout.

Before half term, Year 7 enjoyed an exciting visit to the Bank of England Museum in London's financial district. 💷

Pupils explored the history of money, banking, and the economy through a range of interactive exhibits, discovering how Maths, History, and Architecture all play a role in the world of finance.

One of the highlights of the day was the chance to lift a genuine gold bar made from 99% pure gold, and everyone was amazed by just how heavy it was!

After carefully observing their caterpillars grow and transform into chrysalises, the children were delighted to watch them emerge as beautiful butterflies.

The butterflies were then taken to the forest and gently released into their natural habitat. Some fluttered above the children's heads before settling on a nearby tree, giving everyone one last opportunity to admire them. One butterfly seemed particularly reluctant to leave, choosing instead to perch on Ms Sherrie's finger for a little while longer! 🦋

A wonderful hands-on learning experience that brought the life cycle of a butterfly to life.

Junior pupils from Normanhurst enjoyed a fantastic day competing in the annual Oak-Tree Tennis Tournament at Chingford School of Tennis 🎾

Despite the warm weather, the pupils showed excellent skill throughout the competition.

Thank you to everyone involved in organising such an enjoyable event, and to all the schools who took part. Well done to our pupils for representing Normanhurst so positively.

Year 7 stepped back in time with an exciting trip to the Tower of London. 🏰

Pupils saw the armour of King Henry VIII and discovered how the Tower has been used throughout the centuries. They also visited the Crown Jewels and Traitor’s Gate.

They enjoyed completing information booklets and discovering fascinating details about Britain’s past.

Earlier this month, pupils attended the annual Fourth Plinth Schools Awards Ceremony at City Hall.

The prestigious competition invited pupils from schools across London to create a unique piece of artwork imagining what could sit on the empty Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square, with thousands of entries submitted by children aged 5–16.

We are incredibly proud to announce that Bobby received a special prize for his fantastic artwork, Isolation.

Bobby originally created the piece as part of his mock GCSE exam and was rewarded for his creativity and hard work with a special certificate and a selection of Cass Art goodies. Well done, Bobby! 👏

The Early Years children had a wonderful adventure travelling by train from Chingford to Liverpool Street. 🚆

Along the journey, they loved spotting some of London’s famous landmarks, including The Gherkin and The Shard.

After arriving in the city, the children enjoyed a delicious ice cream treat from Eataly London before hopping back on the train to school. 🍦
