England may be kicking off tonight at the World Cup, but our eyes have been on football a little closer to home. Led by their captain Sophus, the Year 7 boys won the QPR Schools League Plate Final. Man of the match went to Luka, but every single one of them played an outstanding match. We're excited to see if they can bring home more titles throughout their time at Holland Park!

Today was a time for reflection at Holland Park School, as our staff and students remembered all those who lost their lives in the Grenfell Tower fire.

Last week we rolled back the years with a visit from Mr Woods, a Holland Park alum from the 1960s. Our school has certainly changed a great deal since the days when he recalled having to pass his bike proficiency test. Mr Woods kindly left a photo of his friends on a trip to Boulogne in 1964, a school scarf from 1961 and his school report which will all be added to our memorabilia.

Ten of our Year 12 A Level Biology students recently attended the Oxford Nanopore Technologies Conference, where they explored the world of DNA sequencing and met scientists working at the forefront of biological research.

From learning about genetic diseases, epigenetics and cancer research to exploring wildlife forensics and newborn screening, students experienced how Biology is transforming the future of science and medicine.

The day also included hands-on laboratory activities, networking with scientists and workshops using sequencing technology to investigate wildlife crime. We are incredibly proud that some students even secured work experience opportunities through the connections they made.

An inspiring experience showcasing the exciting opportunities available through A Level Biology and future careers in STEM.

Thank you to The Female Lead for organising another successful annual careers event for our female students. This year’s focus on technology and the impact of AI was the perfect introduction for our girls to build their understanding of how to set themselves up for success in a rapidly evolving job market.

We’re excited to return next year and hear from a new set of inspiring speakers!

Well done to our students who took on the terrain of Knoydart as part of their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. Travelling to Britain’s most remote town to hike the beautiful scenery, our pupils adapted to the challenging conditions to complete their expedition!
