Unsung heroes, every school has them and here are two of ours. Mrs Golding and Brian Donnelley attended a special event yesterday to mark more than 30 years of exceptional service to Middle Park Primary School.
Mrs Golding is everything to everyone. She covers classes, screens children for dyslexia, plans and delivers interventions and supports other staff to do the same. She is highly skilled at what she does, she has a real impact on our children and is very appreciated by all staff.
Brian is simply the dream premises manager. He knows every centimetre of our school and brings his knowledge, expertise and skills to his role. From building sets and props, digging out ponds and managing health and safety to leading our premises team and keeping our site safe and clean. He’s also a bit of a rock star to the children!
A huge thank you from everyone in the Middle Park community to these two wonderful members of staff.
Smiles for miles !!! Our Year 6 have had a wonderful day at Southend celebrating their time at Middle Park in style! These children are definitely going to sleep well this weekend after all the excitement of this week.
They are on their way back and should hopefully be back at school at about 6.45pm. 🤞🤞🏻🤞🏼🤞🏽🤞🏾🤞🏿
This is brilliant - behind the scenes, the back stagers knew all the choreography too and this is what was going on behind the curtains when they were closed.
Why so bashful boys ????
A shout out to this wonderful dream team who supported our Year 6 children to put on such an incredible show. What a gifted bunch you are.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAREN !!!! 🎈
Year 6 - there really are no words to do justice to what you achieved this evening. It was pure talent, teamwork and inspiration on show and we are so proud of every single one of you.
What shining stars you are. Now stop making us all cry please!!!!! ❤️
A big thank you to Billy and our Year 6 sports leaders for giving FS2 a wonderful afternoon of sport today. It was great to see so many parents and family members too.
Our second winners of the parent-carer survey competition was Year 5 Gaea who had a great day at the Sutcliffe Park Clip and Climb. Well done Gaea who have won two years in a row. We’ll run out of prize ideas!!
Congratulations to Year 2 Terpsichore who were one of two classes to win our parent-carer survey competition. Their prize was a special trip to the cinema to watch Inside Out 2. They had a great day.
Athena class have been learning about Andy Warhol and pop art and exploring screen printing. We designed our prints and learned about the negative space created by the process leaving us with our design.
Well done to David, Luca, Marcus, Michael and Isaac in Year 4 for their wonderful sustainability documentary. So professional!
When you’re off sick for your graduation 🧑🎓 - we MUST arrange a special ceremony for one.
Well we want to say an enormous thank you to Mr Ball for organising a really exciting and memorable Olympic/Paralympic fortnight. We have enjoyed so many workshops, tried out new sports and celebrated the values of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. We are excited for Paris 2024!!
Well done to this little dude who won silver and gold at Wolverhampton over the weekend competing in a Brazilian world championship Jiu-Jitsu competition. He shared his story with everyone in assembly and showed us his medals and his new belt. Great work 💪🏼
A brilliant day for Year 1 Acanthis at Hall Place. We are proud tree huggers !
Wafty! Some rhythmic gymnastics in FS2.
Our Brilliant Club scholars of 2024 have finally graduated! We are so proud of their achievements and learning just like university students. They have completed assignments over the course of the summer term focusing on the topic Nature, Humanity in Literature.
They have all done extremely well showing great determination and a mindset to achieve their best. Well done to you all.
What can you do on a rainy afternoon???
Our pond lily has flowered! So beautiful.
Year 4 have been learning about the importance of looking after our planet in science. Taking inspiration from David Attenborough and his passion for protecting our climate and planet, we created our own informative videos after practising speaking like Sir David himself, writing our own scripts and sourcing videos to make our mini documentaries.
Our latest Olympic sport is taekwondo. We have loved learning about this exciting sport and having a go with the Tan Gun Martial Arts Academy.
I am THUNDER!!!
It might have been a bit soggy for our FS1 teddy bear picnic but not to be defeated - we organised a fun indoor lunch with our favourite stuffed buddies.
Recognition delivered. Thank you whoever you are!
The most fun forest school ever! FS2 have been making “marshmallows,” building campfires and new homes for Steven the snail, Stickman and the Gruffalo.
Y1 Plutus had a lovely day at the ‘How does your garden grow?’ workshop at Hall Place. They explored the shape, size and texture of different seeds, planted their our own grass seed and visited the vegetable kitchen to see the different fruits and plants that grow there. They saw artichoke, asparagus, figs, and nectarine to name a few. They loved doing observational drawings of the fruit and vegetables and sitting inside of the willow tree.
It has been less than 100 years since all women have had the right to vote. Remember to exercise that hard-won right today - use your voice!
Today, our Year 4 cricket team took part in the Eltham and Mottingham Platform Cricket Festival - competing against 20 teams from 4 other schools in the area. The children performed amazingly and came 3rd, winning a bronze medal each! Fawziyat, Martin and Alex also won the MVP awards for the day! Superstars!
Thanks to the organisers for such a great day.
Great to be back in horse riding action today. We all had a go at trotting and negotiating our horses around a slalom course. Always a joy.
Just because this makes us smile - Sister Act is hotting up !!
It was a day of great excitement today as we enjoyed a series of BMX demonstrations and had a go ourselves. Another Olympic sport that we have enjoyed learning about. The children were SO excited to see the expert in action and some of our staff were even brave enough to have a go. Well done to Miss Siejok, Gemma and Miss Davis.
