From Harrison:

Harrison (they/them) is a guitarist, improviser and composer based in South London. They studied jazz at Trinity Laban conservatoire and now incorporate a broad range of musical influences from European, Latin American and African folk music(s) into their playing and teaching style. Students can expect an open and holistic teaching style that encourages their creative voice and individual relationship to music, while building a relationship to both the story, context and possibilities of their instrument and beyond.

What a fantastic evening we had! All our budding musicians are thriving here at Harmony Tree.
With the most nurturing teachers and Hannahkey. I’m thrilled to announce that ‘Student of the Term’ is Skyla Pearce!!!
Her confidence and performance has come on leaps and bounds this term, Nick and I are very impressed with her progress!

Well done, to everyone who performed, it takes real courage to play In front of of an audience, and you all played beautifully.

So proud of our year here at HTMA, we have so many fantastic student achievements!!
Special mention to Zayd Kahn, who achieved a v. high merit - 2 marks off distinction, but mainly because of his exquisite performance of Film music 'Pirates of caribbean' and 'Interstellar' at the concert on Friday. Zayd demonstrated flair and a fluidity of expression. Thanks to his teacher Rob for being such a great mentor.
Huge congratulations also to Clodagh and Cormack Mcarthy who have progressed so well with their teacher Nick, overcoming nerves to perform their pieces (twice) at the concert.

Also a special mention to Esme Sodomola who expertly improvised on the fly, just because she felt inspired in the moment! Just delicious…

Im so impressed with Vincent Briffa and his composition, which was performed at the conert too, what a brilliant piece of music and self -expression!!

This is the kind of community I have always wanted to create, one with freedom of expression going hand in hand with more traditional achievements, the childs enjoyment at the heart.
