🍂 HELLO AUTUMN 🍂

We have been introducing lots of autumnal materials and words today, feeling the dry and crunchy hard textures, noticing the rich colours and smelling the leaves to see how different they are.

The children really enjoyed their exploration!

During “Five Little Ducks” song time, children explored a tray of oobleck representing the pond. Children were encouraged to sing along to the familiar song while using their hands and small duck figures to act out the story.
They also enjoyed exploring the unusual texture of the oobleck, noticing how it felt between their fingers and how it changed when they squeezed, poked and moved it around. Children used the ducks to recreate parts of the song, moving them through the “pond” , as well as counting while playing. As the song progressed and the number of ducks decreased, children were encouraged to count how many ducks were left. Some children joined in with the repeated words and actions, while others communicated their ideas through gestures, sound, and movements.
What an amazing experience 🥰🥰

Autumnal Colours 🍂

The children have been exploring the beautiful colours of autumn. They carefully observed the pine cones and used a range of autumnal colours, including reds, oranges, and yellows to paint them. The children showed curiosity and enthusiasm as they explored how different colours looked on the textured surface of the pine cones.

With the start of Reception just a few days away for many of our wonderful children and families, here is our handy last minute guide to helping your child prepare and be ready.

Our biggest tip for you as parents is to believe in your child, and to show them that you believe in them! Even if there are fears and worries, those are for behind the scenes, never in front of your child. And finally, we are still always here for you if you want to talk or ask any questions, and please do send us your 1st day pictures, we love to see them!

🍃 Ready - Steady - School 🍃

- Colour grading

Children have been taught the process of sorting, organizing, and presenting materials by shades, tones, and intensities (such as from darkest to lightest ). Today children used the coloured paints to put the grading on the card using a brush. This
activity offers significant cognitive, physical, and emotional benefits within the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
