We're back!
I can't quite believe we're already over halfway through the summer holidays.
I've bought the school uniform, but I'm still making the most of the long summer evenings and slower days together as a family.
It's lovely seeing so many of you back in our online lessons this week and hearing what you've all been up to.
Enjoy these last few weeks of summer.

Which one doesn't belong?

There isn't one correct answer.
The interesting part is explaining your thinking.
Tell us which you would choose and why.

One of the things that makes Growing Young Minds special is our wonderful team.
This week we'd love you to meet Matt.
"I followed my passion for working with children starting out as an apprentice nursery nurse and eventually progressed to study for a degree in Early years education at the University of Greenwich. Shortly after that I studied a PGCE and trained to become a teacher at the University of Bedfordshire
I have taught in a range of schools in the inner-city suburbs of London. To the leafy green countryside’s of Hertfordshire and Surrey. No matter where I work there is one thing that is always constant – how much I enjoy teaching children to learn new skills.
I have a laid back and relaxed approach to learning. I’ve always believed that learning should be fun and not feel like a chore and the core of my teaching is rooted in building safe and respectful relationships with children in which they trust my judgment and teaching."
We feel incredibly lucky to have teachers who build confidence, encourage curiosity and help children enjoy learning.
Younger Joanne would never have believed this...
When I was younger, writing was probably one of my least favourite things to do.
Now it's one of my favourite ways to share ideas with families.
This month's blog is all about the summer holidays and how we can keep children's brains active without making it feel like school.
Whether your child is in primary school or heading towards GCSEs, a few small habits can help them return in September feeling more confident.

The answer is 72.
What could the question be?
There isn't just one correct answer.
Can you think of as many different questions as possible?
We'd love to read your ideas in the comments.

Learning is always happening.
Some of our favourite learning moments don't happen around a table.
Building a den.
Reading in our climbing frame tent.
Playing Snakes and Ladders.
Exploring somewhere new.
Asking lots of questions along the way.
Children learn through conversations, curiosity and experiences every day.
We hope you're enjoying making memories together this summer.
What has been your favourite family adventure so far?
For the first time in ten years, Growing Young Minds is taking a short two-week break over the summer holidays.
Some of the team are still working behind the scenes, planning lessons, creating new resources and getting everything ready for September, but our teachers and children are taking a well-earned rest.
Whether you're heading away, staying local or simply enjoying slower days together, I hope you have a wonderful couple of weeks making memories with family and friends.
We can't wait to hear all about your adventures when our online lessons begin at the end of August.

How many words can you make from:
SUMMER HOLIDAYS
Set a timer for two minutes and see how many you can find.
Save this post and try it with your family over the holidays.
This is my final video before August.
I wanted to wish everyone a wonderful summer holiday.
I hope you make lots of memories, spend time together and enjoy a well-earned break.
Alongside all the fun, keep that brain active.
Read.
Ask questions.
Play games.
Solve problems.
Keep learning in small ways.
We look forward to seeing many of you in September.
