What happens to our sense of self when identity is increasingly shaped by algorithms, metrics and digital performance?

In Taiwanese artist Chen Yi’s Current/y, motion capture, lasers, projection and spatial sound turn the stage into a shifting world of avatars, algorithms and online attention. The work explores the strange space between who we are, how we perform ourselves online, and how systems of data and visibility start to shape our sense of value.

Part dance, part digital spectacle, part very contemporary identity crisis.

In The Death of Beauty, holes: drilled, punched or otherwise created are core to David Daigle's process.

David Daigle’s multi-layered works combine myriad printed materials, books, posters, magazines, and even colorful wrapping paper. He then drills into these thick and uneven surfaces to remove both large and small areas of content.

Enrollment is closing soon for the 2026 Foundwork Artist Prize. The honoree receives a 10,000 USD grant and studio visits with esteemed jurors Stefan Benchoam, François Ghebaly, Manuela Moscoso, Gabi Ngcobo, and gallerist Esther Schipper. Three shortlisted artists will receive 1,000 USD micro-grants.
