Afternoon all,
Nursery legend Cheryl - our long term dance teacher - has sadly been diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer. As you will have seen from the photos, her sessions are wondrous with a high degree of energy and fun which are greatly enjoyed by the children.
Cheryl has been with us for nearly ten years, and can always be relied upon to bring her relentless energy to any session.
Being self employed, Cheryl does not receive sick pay from all of her jobs. We will be paying her for the duration of her time off to help support her.
We would like to help Cheryl during this difficult time and also ask parents who would be willing or able to support us in doing so. We can help to remove the stress of financial worries from her during this time.
If you are able to help Cheryl, please follow the link for further information.

Thanks to everybody who came to our Tenth Spring Fair. It was lovely to see so many of our old families return and everybody helped create a lovely atmosphere. See you all next year!

This year the Bake Off standard was high. Thanks to all those who took the time to make an entry, and also thanks to everyone else for trying them all - a laborious task! Well done to Anna (Morgan’s mum) who won the competition.
Can we also say a big thank you to Claire Nosworthy who travelled up from sunny Bath to help judge.

Learning all about “people who help us”. The children had an enjoyable morning with the police force who came to visit the nursery. Educating them on their roles in our community and how to keep safe. Building good relationships between children and the police.

Hi all,
This year we are celebrating our Tenth Anniversary. To mark this auspicious occasion, we will be hosting a Spring Fair. We would like to invite all families, past and present, along to have a fun morning together. There will be a Mini Train around the garden, a magician, face painting, music, a cafe, and free Prosecco!
For those of you who fancy themselves as bakers, we will be holding our 'Fifth Annual Garden Nursery Bake Off' event in the marquee! So get the measuring scales out and have a bash. The winner as always will receive the prestigious "Claire Nosworthy Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Baking".
Thanks to all of you who have helped make the past decade such a success. We would love to see as many of you as possible, so please come along and have fun with us.

Update on Daisy,
Firstly, we would like to say thank you to everybody who has contributed to support Daisy’s family during this time. The Just Giving page has just surpassed an amazing £20,000 (and continues to rise)! Seeing the generosity of your donations and the numerous messages of support has provided some comfort for the family during this challenging time. Christina and Francesco (the parents) have asked us to pass on their gratitude to you all.
Daisy’s condition continues to slowly improve. Last week she began breathing on her own and was moved from Intensive care in to a ward. She has not yet woken up but there are the emergence of some positive signs – such as responding to touch of her parents. This will be a long road for her.
Once again, we would like to thank everybody who has thought of Daisy and her family. It has been heartening to see that public spirit is alive in London, both from our nursery family and the wider community.

Many of you will have heard the terrible news that one of our children, Daisy, was severely injured in an accident last Tuesday after being hit on the Uxbridge Road by a speeding moped. The incident has been horrific. The last week has been a challenging one but it appears that after the critical first period, everyone is hopeful that Daisy will pull through, although she still faces a long and difficult road ahead.
Whilst this has been a tragedy, it has been heartening to see the outpouring of concern and care for both her and her family from the wider community. With Daisy looking like she has a very long stay in hospital ahead of her, we would like to raise some money to support her family during this incredibly difficult time. As you all would be, both parents are with Daisy constantly, and the hospital is situated away from Acton. The money can be used to support the family and Daisy as they all focus on her ongoing recovery.
As requested by so many of you, we have now set up a Just Giving page, giving everybody the opportunity to support Daisy and her family during this time, as we know she is in your thoughts and prayers.

Morning all,
It seems increasingly likely that the nursery will be shut in the next few weeks. As stated previously, we will be following the advice of Public Health England as to exactly when this is.
In the meantime we need to be thinking of supporting the vulnerable in our local community. To this end, we have the following plan:
* Leaflets are currently being printed to inform people we will be supporting the local community
* We will do a leaflet drop of our local area tomorrow (1000+)
* we will then hopefully begin to assemble a list of people who may need help
* Some of our staff will then be put to work supporting the needy with:
- emergency food
- prescriptions being picked up (possibly)
- phone calls to combat loneliness
How parents can help:
* Volunteers to support the work we may do - please email the nursery
* Donations of food to create a mini food bank to help people - please, everybody can help with this
* Money to support future work
* Any further ideas
If you know of any vulnerable people in the area who we should contact, please let us know
Thanks for your hep in this matter,
Tom & Laurence
