We were delighted to celebrate our Sixth Form and Recent Leavers’ Prize Giving, and to be joined by our Guest of Honour, Matt Carr (OP 2017).

The evening was a wonderful celebration of the achievements of our students, with prizes recognising academic excellence, leadership, sport, the arts and contribution to school life.

Our guest speaker, Matthew Carr (OP 2017), encouraged our leavers to “step out of their comfort zones and be busy trying things you’ve never tried before,” while our Headmaster, Mr Smith, reminded them to “Do the Right Thing” and assured them that the St Benedict’s community would always be rooting for them.

We are incredibly proud of the Class of 2026 and wish them every success and happiness as they begin the next chapter of their journeys.

In his latest Headmaster’s Blog, Mr Smith reflects on the extraordinary Bayeux Tapestry and the thousands of small stitches that come together to create one remarkable story.

Drawing a parallel with the start of a new academic year, he considers how the same can be true of school life. A successful year is rarely defined by one big moment, but by the many small choices we make each day, listening carefully, working hard, showing kindness, asking for help and looking out for one another.

Just as individual stitches come together to create the bigger picture, it is these everyday actions that shape our character and our community.
