A special afternoon for Suiyaine getting her very first pointe shoes! 🩰

Ana joined her for her fitting The Ballet Boutique® where we had such a lovely experience! So much time and care was taken by the fitter to find the right shoes for her.

🤔 I suspect someone will be sewing ribbons all afternoon as she excited to wear them tomorrow.

I absolutely love this Grade 1 Ballet exercise (and it is also a student favourite)!

Here is a little glimpse into how we use imagery in class to help learn and refine movement (and make it more fun too!)

Imagery cues:
🌈 for an 'up and over' lilt and to prep for glissade
💎 for a deep plié
🌪️ for a dynamic spin
⭕️🙂 to guide the shape of the ribbon

See those lovely straight legs and pointed feet? Curtesy of another imagery cue - sharp pencils ✏️.
We practice those before doing the whole exercise with music.

Student news!

🩰 Molinae and Suiyaine recently took part in English Youth Ballet’s full production of the classical ballet Giselle.

We always love seeing our students take up opportunities like this, and they both had such a great time being part of this production. A wonderful experience! ✨

Theatre night out with some of our senior students ✨

Yesterday after classes we headed to Sadler’s Wells, had some pizza for dinner, and then enjoyed a lovely performance by National Youth Ballet 🩰

Such a nice evening together outside of classes, and hopefully inspiring for our young dancers :)

We are excited to welcoming everyone back tomorrow 🤩📷 Thanks to our teaching assistant Indie for the photo!

3 days of fun, building confidence, and making friends✨

This year’s Summer Camp took us on adventures through:

🐒 The Jungle Book
🧞‍♂️Aladdin
🍭Willy Wonka

We spent the week singing, dancing, acting, playing lots of drama games (an absolute favourite!), and getting creative with plenty of crafts 🎨

Special thanks to our fabulous Miss Candice whose creativity never ends, especially when it comes to drama games. And to our senior students, Elsie and Raelle, who assisted the camp and choreographed the pieces.

A huge congratulations to Raelle, who has been accepted onto the Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) programme at The Place! 👏✨

We love seeing our students progressing and taking on new opportunities! It has been wonderful to watch Raelle’s hard work, commitment, and passion for dance, and we cannot wait to see all that she accomplishes in this next chapter 🤩

🎭 LAMDA Drama exam day!

The students have worked so hard preparing their pieces, and today they stepped into the exam room with confidence.

A special thank you to our lovely student Elodie, who helped others practice their pieces and gave everyone a final confidence boost.

👀 Swipe to see two of our students practising their pieces.
