Sadly this doesn't surprise me. I was dismissed and sometimes openly laughed at by GPs in the past. Until I self-diadnosed with ADHD and had to tell them what had been causing all of my symptoms for years!
Why can it be harder for women to get an ADHD diagnosis?

Keep on keeping on. Keep reinventing yourself! π
Every time you get back up, you're a stronger and more resilient person. And if you look back at your life and cringe or wish you'd made different choices, that's just growth. If you were the same person you were back then, there would be no cringing and no regrets.
Take that power and use it to propel yourself forward ππ½β€οΈπππ½

Just because the sun is shining doesn't mean everyone is back to their sunny selves, so wherever you're at today is all good. ππ½ π
I still add having a shower to my daily to-do list when I do my mind map every morning for this very reason. There was a time in my life when getting up and having a shower was progress, so it's a daily reminder of how far I've come. ππ½
Its also a good reminder each day of why I invest my time in the strategies that keep my mind and body healthy π₯π§πΎββοΈπͺπ½

Winner, winner, chicken dinner πππ½π₯³
On Wednesday night, I had the honour of receiving a Rising Star leadership award in recognition of my work in the Digital Education space over the last 12 months. π
Receiving this award couldn't have come at a better time as I've really been struggling with my ADHD symptoms lately. (Will post more about this in future posts). ππ½
Having undiagnosed ADHD for me has meant that I have spent most of my life focusing on my challenges and overlooking my wins. Winning this award has reminded me of just how much I can achieve when I lean into the strengths my ADHD brings, and when I'm implementing the strategies I know can help me to harness those strengths! πͺπ½
The prize for being shortlisted included the 3 day conference, accommodation and all the celebration dinners. Which meant I also got a well needed break by the sea, which helps regulate your nervous system and lower stress levels, double win! πππ½ π
