Roz's latest blog is about how Channel 4 came badly unstuck when it had to deal with r**e allegations from 3 women who had taken part in one of its most successful productions, the reality TV series ‘Married at First Sight’. When a crisis hits, your response becomes the story. Here’s how Channel 4 got it wrong.

It ain't as easy as it looks. That's the title of a biography of Ted Turner. The extraordinary businessman and ex Mr Jane Fonda who set up CNN and changed TV news broadcasting across the world. It was one of his favourite sayings and it's as true now of news and business as it was when he first started saying it.

There's been so much hard news recently that there isn't much space at all in the news agenda for our clients to get coverage of their non war-related stories. However, despite this, our client Animals Asia, which has campaigned for nearly 30 years to end the cruel trade of farming bears for their bile to use in traditional Eastern medicines, secured a slot this week on BBC Radio 4’s flagship Today Programme. Read more about it here!

I love orchids and I’ve got at least a dozen of them in my house. So, I was thrilled to spend a day at the Orchid Festival at Kew Gardens. It’s in the Princess of Wales Conservatory where there are spectacular displays of Chinese orchids – of all shapes and sizes. These include some orchids that have roots that don’t go in the soil. They just hang in the air. Who knew? Plus, there’s a fantastic Chinese dragon covered in orchids.
This exhibition ends on March 8th – catch it if you can.

Roz's latest blog is about the disastrous press conference at the end of the Winter Olympics by IOC president Kirsty Coventry.
It’s a powerful example of how not to answer questions at a press conference and completely illustrates the need to be thoroughly prepared before facing questions from journalists. Thinking on your feet and being able to bridge away from tricky questions are essential skills for any spokesperson and she demonstrated not only that she wasn’t prepared, but that she doesn’t have these important skills. She even threatened to dismiss her comms team. It’s a real shocker. Roz has broken down exactly what went wrong and what every spokesperson should learn from it. You can read it here:

Today we are living in very uncertain times where we can have no idea where our next crisis and potential for reputational damage is coming from. For example, how many charities as well as politicians are currently checking to see if they had contact 20 years ago with Jeffrey Epstein and his charitable foundation? You don't have to have been a sinner to be touched by the malign influence of Epstein and need to defend your reputation. Just one example of the vital need to plan for the unexpected as Roz points out in my in her latest blog. Are you sure your media planning is up to speed for today's perils? Read more here:
