PQA Upminster

Well if this doesn’t bring about some tears I don’t know what will! 14 years of PQA Upminster means 14 years of watching the most incredible young people grow up and become wonderful young adults. It is a privilege and days like today are a little reminder of that ❤️

14 years ago, PQA Upminster opened its doors at Coopers Company and Coborn School. 14 years of sharing the beautiful world of performing arts with young people, watching them grow up and grow in confidence and ability. We’ve made it through the pandemic, seen 4 different west end shows, performed countless times on stage, made lots of filming projects, seen students go off into the big wide world and so much more. Aren’t we lucky? Thank you for 14 years of incredible students and parents/guardians and of course, the most fantastic staff. Here’s to another 14 or more years hopefully of PQA Upminster 🩷

Saturday was just brilliant 🥹 There was such a wonderful energy at the academy and we came away beaming at the end of the day. Well done and thank you to all of our students who are working harder than ever at the moment on multiple projects at the same time, showing just how fantastic you all are. And an extra well done to all of our POWs, FMOWs and RMOWs 🎉

Students got to experience a special workshop on Saturday, learning about the differences between screen and stage acting as well as tips for making a great self tape! Self tapes are fast becoming the way forward for castings, so it’s important for our students to be prepared 🎬

Thanks for so many wonderful stories 📚

📚✨ Happy Roald Dahl Day! ✨📚 Today, we’re celebrating one of the world’s most beloved storytellers, Roald Dahl! From wonderfully weird characters to mischievous adventures and stories that spark the imagination, his work has inspired generations of young readers.

At PQA, we love bringing those stories to life on stage! 🎭

Our exciting project, Roald Dahl’s Twisted Tales, takes the original words and adaptations of Roald Dahl’s much-loved works and gives PQA students the chance to step into his wonderfully imaginative world. Our students also do amazing performances of the theatre show, Matilda!

What a brilliant way to start the new term/academic year! Welcome back everyone, we have hit the ground running! Thank you everyone for your support with the casting of Legally Blonde Jr. We have lots of exciting opportunities ahead, all the way up to Autumn 2028! We have also introduced a new certificate to our weekly incentives.. Role Model of the Week ⭐️ A huge well done to our first ever recipients, Scarlett and Una, you are both super deserving and wonderful members of the academy 🤩
