Massive shoutout to everyone waiting on GCSE results today - GOOD LUCK! 🍀🙏🏽
Milestones like this are filled with the entire spectrum of emotions, and as a GCSE Science teacher and tutor, and youth coach and mentor, I really have seen most of it over the past 15 years!
This message from YoungMinds is a helpful one to remind us that no matter what the piece of paper reads today, this is a small step on a lifelong journey, and you are absolutely not defined by the results you attained for any subject (not today or ever)!
You’ve worked hard to get here, be proud of your achievements and importantly, acknowledge the huge efforts you made along the way to go this far - the journey is where the magic truly lies!

🌟Wishing you all a FABULOUS FRIDAY and a wonderful weekend ahead!🌟
The weekend can be the perfect moment to rest 😴, recharge 🪫 and recalibrate 🧭 those parts of us that may have been put a little out of kilter or pushed off-balance throughout the week. Because, let’s face it - life can be demanding: whether we are at school 📚, at work 💼 or even when we’re on 🏖 holiday!
So if you have a few quiet moments to spare over the next couple of days, remember to take some time for
Y-O-U.
It can be a helpful personal check-in to ask ourselves these simple questions:
🧠Mind, how do you feel today?
🧍🏽♀️Body, how do you feel today?
🫀Heart, how do you feel today?
As you complete each check-in, ask the question:
—What do you need from me today?
This is a simple way to identify at least one thing that you could do to help bring a little more balance ⚖️ to each part again, allowing you to feel more energised and restored as a whole individual 🧘🏽♀️🧘🏻🧘🏿♂️. And if there’s one thing I’ve learnt through experience, it’s that when I’m feeling closer to my best self 💁🏽♀️, the entire world around me also takes on an incredibly positive vibe!🦄🌈

Is EQ the new IQ..?
Hi everyone! I hope you're enjoying some relaxation and rest with your close ones at this time and, as 2020 draws to a close, you have many positives to reflect on even through the haze of a global pandemic, social distancing, limited physical contact and all of the other life challenges you may have experienced this year. It's been tough at times for many of us, whilst others have found it pretty smooth sailing. Whatever your personal 2020 journey has been, I truly hope you still managed to find some magic in it all to fill you with warmth and add a smile to your dial particularly as we round out another 365-day (366!) cycle!
So: EQ and IQ...or Emotional Intelligence Quotient vs Intelligence Quotient. What's all the fuss about?
There is a huge amount of evidence supporting the notion that having an awareness and understanding of our personal interactions, how we respond to situations and people, is integral to understanding and better managing the way we personally navigate different areas of our lives. This can have a dramatic impact in our school life from early on, our careers as we track through adult life, and especially our personal relationships right from the beginning of our lives.
I agree with many of the ideas presented in this article (particularly with respect to integrating this type of learning into school curriculum), and how modelling has the ability to influence many facets of our lives. Have you ever considered WHY you think about something the way you do (and how easily someone else in your circle might be able to brush this off)? Or why you might be triggered by the actions or responses of another individual even when in reality, in the situation you might be perfectly safe and under absolutely no threat? Years of evolving as you, and by having your individual personal experiences are essentially at the root of all of this and have a hugely profound effect on how we go about our daily lives in the world. It really is mind-blowing to think that whilst we believe we have control over things, much of the time our perceptions have been so hard-wired by our lifelong experiences that it can be difficult to undo the thinking - and therefore reactions and responses - that make our experiences either fearful or exciting.

Can you believe it?! It wasn’t so long ago we were asked to stay home to keep ourselves and others safe, to take a break from the classroom and bells and ordinary ways of doing this thing we know as school. And now look where we are - SEPTEMBER!
I hope all of you are doing very well, your families and friends are safe and you’ve managed to reset over the summer break after what has been one of the trickiest school years EVER!
So how are you feeling now that school is back, beautiful beings? Have you returned to the school building or have you decided to stay at home a little longer? Either way, we’re in a new term and that means a chance to start absolutely fresh, with a clean slate and enjoy great learning times ahead!
