NWC's Mr Giblin was presented his research on Design Thinking at the first ICGS Educating Girls UK Symposium earlier today. We are so proud to be at the forefront of educational research and privileged to be part of a global partnership which is focused on girls' education.

From 'Are Heart Transplants Ethical & Effective Across the World' to 'The Science of Bionics', the subjects explored by our brilliant scholars at this evening's Academic Showcase certainly ignited our intellectual curiosity. Congratulations to all involved!

Yesterday we welcomed NWC alumna, Catriona Bradley! ⭐️

Catriona studied at NWC before doing on to read Biology at the University of Kent. Whilst completing her degree, she realised her true passion was costume making 🪡

Catriona then studied at, and subsequently worked with, RADA and worked on creating the costumes for Brigerton!

🐑 Farm Visit 🐑

Today, EYFS welcomed lots of animals to the playground 🐇

Students got to meet lambs, chickens, ducks, rabbits, Guinea pigs, goats, a donkey, and a Shetland pony!

Lots of fun and learning about what the animals eat and how to look after them

🔢 Numeracy Day 🔢

Yesterday, students from Nursery to Year 11 took part in our Numeracy Day!

With a broad range of activities from learning about money safety to trading oil in an ever-changing economy, coin counting to planning a home renovation, students had fun working together to complete their activities 👩🏽‍🤝‍👩🏻

Thank you to NCPTA for all your hard work at the Halloween Cake Sale. We managed to raise over £700 which is a spooktacular amount 👻🤩!!!

Yesterday, Mrs Brown welcomed former headmistress, Mrs Dalton, to Northwood College. Mrs Dalton’s 3 granddaughters are now happy and successful NWC girls. She also met our Head Student Team, who showed her their archival exhibition for .

Last night, we were delighted to host Ignite: The Academic Showcase, in honour of our brand new STEM build, the Alvarium. With a keynote speech from Dr Jess Wade - GDST alumna, scientist, and advocate for women in STEM – and exciting academic presentations from our student and staff, it was an event not to be missed. Student-led talks included an exploration of Virtual Reality technology, an experiment on epigenetics, a rumination on the future of bioprinted organs in medicine, and much, much more. Thank you so much to Dr Wade for her inspiring speech and well done to all of our brilliant presenters.

We are so proud of the students, parents and staff who ran and walked to raise money for Mount Vernon Cancer Centre yesterday afternoon. What a fantastic display of teamwork, perseverance, and community spirit!

In July 2022, a group of NWC students were given the fantastic opportunity to travel to Mexico, supporting Operation Wallacea, a biodiversity and climate research organisation. 💚🌿☀️🌊

Yr 11 girls enjoyed an afternoon trip to the theatre last week to watch a production of An Inspector Calls, part of their GCSE course. They were fascinated by the staging and had fun discussing the production choices!

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Her Royal Highness, HM Queen Elizabeth II. She has been, and will remain, an inspiration to us all. An incredible woman whose values we aim to embody every day at Northwood. We thank her for a life of true service.
