Writing in different mediums (with a meaningful connection to the pattern i.e nature in leaves) is a great memory hook, and it’s also a lot of fun! Who knew there were so many ways to spell one sound!? Word sorting is a great way to build awareness of different spelling choices for individual sounds. We discussed homophones like sore and soar, paws and pause, before learning au more thoroughly using multi sensory strategies.
