Our thanks to Daler Rowney for an informative and inspirational day at their factory in Bracknell.
We were guided through the various factory areas and shown how their products are made from the start of the process to tubes and bottles being filled, followed by labelling and packing. The meticulous way that quality control works was fascinating.
We also saw paper being rolled and cut and the production of sketchbooks.
We viewed their historic products and learnt about the company - Daler-Rowney, established in 1783 in London, is a historic British manufacturer of art materials that formed from the 1983 merger of George Rowney & Co. (founded 1783) and the Daler Board Company (founded 1946). The company is now a subsidiary of conglomerate F.I.L.A. Group,
Artists’s paint is made by mixing finely ground pigments (color powder) with a binder to hold them together and a solvent to control thickness. The mixture is milled for even consistency, with different binders—such as linseed oil, acrylic emulsion, or gum arabic—defining the type of paint as oil, acrylic, or watercolor. view some of our historic products.
After a light lunch, Daler-Rowney artist Jenny Muncaster, hosted a creative session introducing us to their extensive product ranges. We were then encouraged to try out any that interested us.
The day ended with each of us choosing from a large selection of goodies to take home!
Now to find some experimenting time in our studios 😀

Paris - the season is heating up with painting festivals, workshops, watercolor retreats, and events overflowing with positive energy and the warm embrace of community. And while these are brilliant experiences to share with friends from around the world, every time I come home to Paris I feel my soul relax

Congratulations Srirangam Mohankumar RI RSMA 🎉
“l'm deeply grateful and proud to share that my application for membership to the RI of Watercolours has been successful. After a lifetime dedicated to watercolour painting, this recognition feels especially meaningful.
Having exhibited with the RI in the past, I always hoped one day to be accepted, and it's been a pleasure to meet and form friendships with fellow artists who share such a passion for this medium.
I look forward to contributing to the society through future exhibitions and active participation. Thank you for your support and for this wonderful honour.”
