Merton Music Foundation

We organise large scale concerts and events and actively contribute to the national discussion about music education.

Our vision is a borough where music resonates along the corridors of every school and echoes throughout the community; a place of aspiration where every child can find their first notes, make progress and flourish as a young musician. What We Do

Working with our hub partners, we support and advocate for music in Merton schools via staff training, whole-class teaching / First Access and special pr

Are you wondering where music will take your child?
Tonight we had the pleasure of watching two of our MYJO alumni perform at the Milton Court Theatre with the Guildhall Jazz Orchestra and the legendary Rufus Reid under the direction of Scott Stroman. Onwards and upwards!

Discover the rhythm within! Thanks to The Jack Lonergan Foundation, your child can learn how to beatbox in a fun and supportive environment. They'll learn the basics and explore vocal percussion, develop creativity, and boost confidence. Limited spots available—secure yours today!

Tuesdays after schools at Soundwave in Mitcham.

🚧 Anyone driving to our South Wimbledon Music Centre might need to allow a bit more time for your journey as the traffic has been bad lately (particularly on Kingston Road).

A huge thank you to Time & Leisure Magazine for featuring us in the February issue which is OUT NOW!

'Change is Coming' concert at the Royal Albert Hall.
Monday 11 March, 2024

Please support our fundraiser:

It’s really quite magical…seeing the look of awe on the faces of our young performers as they first set foot into the Royal Albert Hall auditorium on concert day…and look up.

For some of our older ensemble members, it may be the second or even third time that they’ve performed at this iconic venue but for many, it’s the first. Regardless, they’ll all have that same expression. An expression that says ‘Wow’.

If you can picture that expression, or perhaps you’re lucky enough to have experienced that ‘wow’ feeling yourself, please consider supporting our fundraising campaign to create lifelong memories for the 1,500 young singers and instrumentalists who will be joining us.

This is how your donation could help:

- £12 could sponsor a child’s place in the massed choir
- £20 could provide a ticket at The Royal Albert Hall for a parent/guardian to witness their child’s performance, who may have not otherwise been able to access and enjoy this event
- £35 could fund an hour of tutor time, crucial for preparing young people for this performance
- £50 could support the hire of additional instruments
- £100 could support an afternoon of music workshops with a Merton Primary School, nurturing musical confidence and creativity, whilst preparing for the performance
- £500 could illuminate the stage for our young performers, covering crew lighting costs to make their performance shine

With only 9 days left to reach our target of £5,000 your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Please like and share. 🙏🏼
