After 58 wonderful years, Royston Playgroup will sadly be closing its doors on 17th July 2026. 🏫

We would like to say a heartfelt thank you ❤️ to all the staff, past and present, for their dedication and care over the years. Your hard work has helped shape so many young lives 👶✨ and created countless happy memories.

We are also deeply grateful 🙏 to all the parents and families who have supported us throughout, and to our local community for standing by us 🤝 and valuing what the playgroup has offered for nearly six decades.

It has been an incredible journey 🌈, and we are proud of everything that has been achieved together.

🚀🐾 Understanding the World Week 🐾🚀

This week our children have been busy exploring Understanding the World through exciting role-play and hands-on learning!
In our Space Station area, little astronauts blasted off on imaginative adventures, learning about space, planets and teamwork. 🚀✨

Over in our Vets area, the children became caring vets, helping animals, talking about how to look after pets and learning about kindness and responsibility. 🐶🐱

It’s been wonderful to see their curiosity, imagination and confidence grow as they explore the world around them!

✨ Maths Week at Playgroup! ✨
This week we’ve been having so much fun exploring numbers through play! From counting hops on our hopscotch to building, sorting and problem-solving with maths blocks, little minds have been busy learning without even realising it.
Learning through play is what we do best! 💛

🎄✨ A Huge Thank You! ✨🎄

We had the most wonderful time at our children’s Christmas party, and we’d like to say a big thank you to the amazing Eddie Wren for coming along and keeping our little ones thoroughly entertained!

The children were smiling, laughing, and completely engaged from start to finish — it was lovely to see them having so much fun and getting into the Christmas spirit 🎅🎶

If you’re looking for an entertainer who is fantastic with young children, we couldn’t recommend Eddie enough. Thank you for helping make our Christmas party so special! ❤️

✨🎄 Christmas has arrived at Playgroup! 🎄✨

The children have been full of excitement getting ready for the festive season. The children helped decorate our Christmas tree so beautifully, carefully hanging their chosen ornaments and chatting about all things Christmassy.

They also created their very own Christmas tree picture using the lovely baubles they decorated themselves — each one as unique and colourful as the children who made them. We’re so proud of their creativity and enthusiasm!

Wishing all our families a very Merry Christmas from everyone at Playgroup. 🎅✨

🍎✨ Black History Month Healthy Eating Café! ✨🍽️
This week, our Home Corner has been transformed into a Healthy Eating Café as part of our Black History Month celebrations. 🖤❤️💚

The children will be exploring role play — taking turns as chefs, customers, and waiters, while learning about healthy foods and celebrating diverse cultures and traditions. 🥗🍌🥥

We will be talking about the importance of making healthy choices, trying new foods, and sharing meals together. 🌍👧🏾👦🏽👩‍🍳

It will be wonderful way to mix imaginative play with learning about heritage, community, and well-being.

As part of our culture week last week, the children painted their hands in the flag colours that belong to their families heritage and culture. These have been displayed on our front door.

Welcome to Royston shop! The children are selling a range of fruit and vegtables including some real fruit and vegetables which they are enjoying selling. The activity trays today are Miss Honey's hat and letter recognition to practice phonics.
