It was an absolute honour to speak with An Baul (KOR) about his retirement. What an immense career and a humble man:

2015 world champion and double Olympic medallist Baul An (KOR) has made the announcement all judo fans knew was coming, as much as they didn’t want it to. An is retiring from elite competition, a judoka who will be missed on the World Judo Tour.

Dear judo friends,

The tragedy in Nepal, the flash flooding which has caused so much devastation, has also taken the lives of young judoka in the region. As a club, we have donated clothes and bedding already to be distributed in affected areas but many of you have asked how you can do something more to help. My friend, Olympian Sabrina Filzmoser, has been working with local judoka for many many years to develop the sport in the region and she has set up a donation site to help get funds to those who are struggling. The basics such as food and shelter are desperately lacking, whole villages destroyed. Please contribute what you can. This is a trusted way to get your donations where they are needed most, without bureaucracy or other delays having an impact.

Thank you in advance ❤️‍🩹
