August workshops are booking up and we want to make sure your child gets a place before they go.
Groups stay small on purpose. Eight children per in-person session, six online. Before each course begins, Charlotte speaks with parents to find out exactly what their child needs, so the week is built around that child rather than a fixed curriculum. Every course ends with a mock exam and a written feedback report, so you finish the week knowing where they stand.
English and Maths run in Clapham at St Barnabas Church and The Omnibus Theatre. Reasoning is fully online, so no travel needed.

Hyde Tutoring was shortlisted for the The Tutors' Association national tutoring awards last month. Charlotte and super tutor Rachel Poulton headed along to the award show on Friday to represent us.

You can probably tell from the photos what a brilliant night it was. Congratulations to our fellow nominees and to the winners.

Being shortlisted alongside so many great tutors and tutoring businesses was a proper reminder of what a privilege it is to work in education.

Reasoning workshops are among our most popular courses, and places go fast. We have added a new one this August for families who missed out.
Reasoning is one of the most challenging parts of selective school entrance exams, and one of the easiest areas to underestimate. Unlike English or Maths, it doesn't test academic knowledge. It tests how a child thinks under pressure. Pattern recognition, logic, and problem-solving using question types that are often completely unfamiliar until children have been shown how to approach them.
With the right preparation, these are skills that can be developed and sharpened significantly in a short period of time.
Our new online Reasoning Holiday Workshop runs the week of 17 August, designed for children going into Year 5 or Year 6 in September. Small groups of 6, timed practice throughout, and a final mock test so your child finishes with a clear picture of where they stand.

Reasoning is the part of selective school entrance exams that children find hardest to prepare for, and it is easy to see why. Unlike English or Maths, it doesn’t test what your child knows. It tests how they think. Pattern recognition, logic, problem-solving under pressure. Question types that are often completely unfamiliar, in an exam that rewards speed and accuracy in equal measure.
The children who do best are the ones who have seen the question types before, practised under timed conditions, and built genuine confidence rather than last-minute familiarity.
That is exactly what this workshop is designed to do.

According to Forbes, children can lose up to 40% of their academic progress over the summer holidays. For most families that's frustrating. For children with 7+ to 11+ entrance exams on the horizon, it can feel genuinely daunting.

The summer before an entrance exam is one of the most important windows for consolidating skills, practising exam technique and building the confidence to perform under pressure. Six weeks of switching off can undo months of hard work.
