I spent over 40 years being the ‘good girl.’
Afraid to rock the boat. Who said yes when I meant no. Making myself small so everyone else could feel more comfortable.
I thought this was kindness, being a good person. But that’s only part of it.
Kind and good is important, of course it is, but so is integrity, honesty and being authentic.
Being the ‘good girl’ was exhausting and lonely.
And it became how I felt valued. I had no idea who I even was anymore.
If you’re reading this and feeling seen, you’re not alone.
You’re just conditioned. Like so many of us are. The good news is that conditioning can be unlearned.

When you’re overwhelmed, your nervous system is dysregulated. Here are 3 tools I use:
1. Box breathing: Inhale 4, hold 4, exhale 4, hold 4. Repeat.
2. Grounding: Name 5 things you can see, 4 you can touch, 3 you can hear, 2 you can smell, 1 you can taste.
3. EFT tapping: Tap the side of your hand and the top of your head and say, ‘Even though I feel overwhelmed, I deeply accept myself.’
These three tools have saved me on my hardest days.
Your nervous system is trying to keep you safe.
When you give it what it needs (safety, regulation, grounding, presence), everything shifts.

You’re beautiful. You matter. You’re allowed to not have it all figured out. To fall apart and realign. To change and let go. To make mistakes. To smile, to laugh, to gain weight, loose weight, get wrinkles, cry, rest, scream into a pillow when it all feels too much. 😱
You’re human and you are loved. Allow it all my love, even the messiest parts of you. 🥰
📱Choosing more sleep over more scrolling.
😔 Not saying sorry for sharing your opinion or taking up space.
📧 Do the small task you’ve been putting off if it’ll take you less than 10 minutes.
🍽️ Eat each meal mindfully and properly. Set the table with a glass of water.
💭 Clarify your own thoughts before asking for others’ opinions.
📔 Pause, check your diary and respond when you’re ready. Don’t react with a yes in the moment.
✋ No is a complete sentence, and you don’t need to justify your no.
📱 Build a better relationship with your phone. Be intentional with it. Pick it up for a purpose, not a domapine hit.

When did someone last truly listen to you? No advice. No solutions. Just presence.
We live in a world of problem solvers. When someone shares something difficult, we immediately reach for a fix.
It comes from care. But so often, what we actually need isn’t a solution. It’s to be witnessed.
To have someone sit with us in our experience and know they see, hear and accept you. That’s powerful.
This is the foundation of women’s circle. The art of deep listening without agenda. Just presence and compassion.
