Brain Food For Kids

Today, while preparing my children's art classes, I decided to have a play with some very old crayons I found in the cupboard.

I was quite impressed by the beautiful textures they created!

Just a lovely reminder that sometimes the simplest materials can produce the most interesting results.

I wonder what he was reading. Was it the news about the dinosaur who sneaked into the old lady's house and ate all her strawberry cakes? Or perhaps the latest report about the old parrot who decided to travel the world on one last grand adventure?

Maybe next time I'll be brave enough to ask him and find out!

I was listening to an interview with .f.carlin where she mentioned that she often works on the same spread in several different ways at the same time. It helps her stay loose.

As someone who is always wondering which paper to use, which materials to choose, or what colours to add (as I was saying to a few days ago) I decided to give it a go myself.

It's been a really freeing exercise so far: less pressure, more play, and a chance to discover ideas I might not have found otherwise.

Trying to draw as much as I can lately. Not always achievable, but one minute counts more than none. And somehow, that minute keeps me happy 🤗

Today, I caught myself wishing for a warm, summery rainy day. We got the rain… but none of the summer! Oh well... some dreams do come true, as you can see!
