Once you receive your child’s grammar school offer, you must accept the place before the deadline set by your local authority which is usually mid March.

If you do not respond in time, the place may be offered to another child on the waiting list.

Even if you are still considering other options or waiting for an appeal, it is usually best to accept the offered place first. This secures the school while you make your final decision.

Every year some families lose places simply because they forget to confirm their acceptance.

Take a moment today to log in to your local authority portal and make sure your child’s place is confirmed.

Today is National Offer Day, the day when many families discover whether their child has secured a grammar school place.

* Offer Details: If you applied online, you will receive an email in the evening with the outcome.
* Acceptance: You must accept or refuse the offer by the deadline specified in your offer email to ensure your child is secured a place.
* Waiting Lists: If your child did not receive their first preference, they are automatically placed on the waiting list for higher-preference schools.
* Appeals: For schools where you were refused a place, you have the right to lodge an appeal, with specific deadlines for community schools

Whatever the outcome, please remember that parental support and encouragement remain the single most important factors in a child’s long-term success, regardless of which school they attend. 📢 BEXLEY 11+ EXAM REGISTRATION - DO NOT MISS THE DEADLINE!

If your child is due to sit the Bexley 11+ this year, registration is absolutely essential. No registration means no test place.

🗓 WHEN DOES REGISTRATION OPEN?
Registration for the Bexley 11+ typically opens on 1st March 2026.

⏰ *WHEN DOES IT CLOSE?
The deadline is 31st March 2026, at midnight. Late applications are only accepted in exceptional circumstances, so do not rely on this.

📝 HOW DO YOU REEGISTER?
Parents must apply online via the London Borough of Bexley website.
You will need:
✔ Your child’s details
✔ Proof of address
✔ Email confirmation once submitted

📍 The Bexley test normally takes place between the 2nd - 10th September 2026 at local test centres before secondary school applications close on 31 October.

Registration for the test is separate from the secondary school application. You must complete both.
