The programme provides a well structured supplemental system of learning, and encourages parental involvement, w
hich boosts students' confidence and self-esteem.Kumon involves a small amount of regular work every day, usually about 30 - 40 minutes per subject. Each student follows an individualized programme, starting at a comfortable level determined by an assessment, to build confidence and to get used to doing Kumon. This also gives students the opportunity to fill any gaps they may have in their knowledge and skills. Daily work helps students to develop their concentration and independent learning skills. Our aim at Abbeywood Kumon Centre is not just to prepare children for passing an exam or catching up with schoolwork. We aim to nurture confident, independent learners – children who will be prepared to meet challenges in school and beyond.
