Gentleness!

I want to share a reminder for everyone please as I am seeing too much of this around! When people make an error - small or major: as Muslims we should treat this matter with gentleness and follow the example of our Prophet (saw). Of course we should correct others and point out mistakes, but there is a correct way to do this!

This I believe, includes being gentle, doing so in private, not exposing sins and doing so with a soft heart with a good intention. The aim should be to help another person, not to upset them, be rude or offend them.

Where is this coming from?

I am 100% honest and will always continue to be especially if I make mistakes! Yesterday I was blasted publicly on a WhatsApp group for having some minor errors on one of my posters. I was addressed rudely and publicly especially after I said PM for more info (as no one wants to read group msgs which are irrelevant to them). Clearly this is still bothering me because it reminded me of the sad state of some Muslims, where harshness comes first and gentleness is not at the forefront.

In response:

Yes I teach English, Yes I teach children, Yes I teach adults, Yes I am a teacher, Yes I still make typos and mistakes because I am human and just like every other teacher, we are not perfect and don’t claim to be either!

In addition to this, I have lost count of how many posters I have made to date and admin is very time consuming so yes I admit I may have overlooked an apostrophe, a capital letter or a space somewhere - wether it was me or autocorrect and I am SORRY but please find me someone on this earth who is perfect in their job, perfect in their role, perfect in their skill, perfect with their words or writing, perfect like the Prophet (SAW) ….. exactly - you can’t name anyone because this person in the form of us humans does not exist!

Without going on, a reminder to everyone and myself: no one will ever know what someone is going through, how hard they are working, their struggles or anything ESP if you are strangers on a WhatsApp group so please choose KINDNESS and GENTLENESS first!

Before Arabicwordsinislam and before I had my little ones ❤️, I studied English Literature and Language at GCSE and A Level, and went on to complete further studies in my BA (Hons) degree and additional qualifications—making English my subject specialism.

English has always been my passion. Alhamdulillah, I have taught many students in institutions and privately through 1-to-1 and group classes, ranging from primary to adult learners, and have been doing so since 2011.

I also set and mark exam-style questions for students who need that extra practice and guidance with their writing.

In addition, I proofread and edit university assignments and provide copywriting services for businesses. For more information, please get in touch!

After having children, I took a break from tuition and created Arabicwordsinislam to continue my love of teaching through workshops and learning resources, with a stronger focus on Islam ❤️

I am still teaching English and incorporate Islamic writing and themes into my lessons wherever possible. These are the services I currently offer—please message me for any English support, and check the highlights above for reviews and examples of student work.

Jazak Allahu Khairan 🩷
