Our mother tongue is way more than just a language we use. It's part of our identity, our mentality, our personality. It preserves traditions, memory and unique forms of expression that reflect – and shape – the way we think.

While a growing number of people can speak more than one language, our mother tongue is different: when we speak our mother tongue, we speak with our heart.❤️

✏️📚 At least 45% of the estimated 7000 languages spoken in the world are endangered. Only a few hundred languages genuinely have a place in education systems and the public domain, and fewer than a hundred are used in the digital world. When languages fade, an entire cultural and intellectual heritage disappears.

Let's take care of our languages! We care!

This is an event we would like to recommend. A great selection of speakers and subjects such as respeaking.

Ethics in Interpreting is the subject of Ibrahim Kadouni’s presentation at the CIOL Online Conference on 20 March. An experienced Arabic conference and broadcast interpreter, Ibrahim will highlight the theoretical underpinnings of interpreting ethics as well as provide practical tools and strategies to navigate complex ethical landscapes.
If you work in this field, don’t miss this presentation!
