The autumn courses are the perfect opportunity for revision and exam practice, for pupils in Y5 who are preparing for exams at the end of 2022, and at the start of 2023. The sessions will cover English, Maths and Reasoning, and the material will cover both the multiple-choice style of testing and the written test format for schools which still set written papers.
As the exams begin to draw nearer, pupils will be reviewing the biggest challenges they will encounter. They will gather a multitude of tips and skills regarding exam technique and time management, which will give them the best possible chance to shine in their upcoming tests.
Each course will finish with mock exams in English and Maths, which will be tailored towards the assessment methods of individual students’ top school choices, and marked by our specialist tutors. Parents will subsequently receive written feedback to help them to strategise and prepare more effectively over the time remaining before exams.
Working with up to twelve pupils, each course will cover comprehension technique, story-writing, consolidation of key maths topics, problem-solving skills, handling nerves, time management, and non-verbal and verbal reasoning tips.

ONLINE – NAVIGATING THE UK UNIVERSITY SYSTEM (PARENTS’ COURSE)
20 to 21 August, 11am – 12pm each day
Cost of course (2 hours) – £80
Suitable for parents wishing to learn more about this subject. The course will run for 2 x 1 hour sessions on Zoom.
This course provides parents with an in-depth knowledge of the UK’s university system and explains the intricacies of university choice and the UCAS application process. The course has been tailored in particular for international families who have not been through the system themselves, who wish to confidently advise their own children on the process.
Through a series of seminars and presentations, the course will help parents identify degree-choice options for their children, and provide them with the necessary background information to assist their child effectively. In addition to providing information about Oxbridge and the Russell Group Universities, the course will provide parents with details regarding all parts of the process, including references, personal statements, and university-specific examinations and written work.
The course will be run by Oxbridge Consultant, Lenny Cherry. Lenny graduated from Magdalene College Cambridge in 2016 with a First Class honours degree in Human, Social and Political Sciences, specialising in Biological Anthropology and Palaeolithic Archaeology. She now works at the Victoria and Albert Museum.

INSIDE OXBRIDGE – ONLINE COURSE
The course will run for 2 x 1.5 hour sessions
Dates: 9 and 10 July. Times: 9am – 10.30am
Cost of course (3 hours) - £180
Suitable for Years 11-13, this course will take place on Zoom
This focused course will demystify Oxbridge entrance and address the key trouble-spots that Year 11-Year 13 students face when considering and beginning the application process. The course is led by Griffin + Bell tutor Leonora Cherry, a past graduate of Cambridge University. She is ready to give attendees an introduction to the important subtleties attached to college choice, the admissions process, the additional university-set entrance examinations, and interviews.

The course is aimed to inspire, direct and boost the confidence of aspiring Oxbridge university students and to lay to rest the concerns and misconceptions that often accompany the application process.
The course will be hosted on Zoom, with a maximum of 12 pupils.
