Established as a College on the current site by London Borough of Newham in 1985, the result of a merger between East Ham and West Ham technical colleges with the aim 'to better serve the needs of the people of Newham'. Newham College of FE has a reputation for widening student participation with an enormous range and variety of provision. The College has developed a comprehensive selection of outreach sites and learning partnerships across London, enlarging the college considerably.

Time to talk day 2025

Its time to talk day and we want everyone to feel comfortable talking about mental health. Talking openly and honestly can be the first step towards better mental health for everyone.

Throughout the day, activities were set out for both our staff and students to participate in, including games and group chats around various subjects.

Our Hospitality and Catering students visited West Ham United and their catering team for a masterclass with the club's head chefs. Our learners were challenged in preparing dishes using their creativity skills, which were later judged by the chefs.

ASOS x Newham College: Creative Collaboration

Our Art & Design Level 3 learners visited ASOS HQ. On the day they met head designers, learnt about their career journeys, and got an inside look at the design process.

They received a live brief and will work on their projects with ongoing feedback from industry professionals—perfect for enhancing the curriculum and elevating their portfolios for university and apprenticeships!
