Hello everyone. We are now coming to the end if 2021. What a year it has been as we started back last year on 1/1/21. Plenty of challenges as we waded through obstacles trying to find the easier way to our goals through the sea of Covid 19. There was zoom , bubbles of 15 when we opened tentatively , and then , finally we could all meet up again , though still following health and safety guidelines . Thank you to all of you : students /parents and staff alike : you persevered and we all celebrated jubilantly via the first virtual ASHR ceremony held back in November this year . So many of you were inspired to reach for the next goal !! Congratulations once again to all of the recipients of the awards .

To top it all , as we reach the end of the year , we have another celebration that cannot go unmarked !
Kumon Blackheath study centre turned 20 in December!!🥳🎊🎉. It’s been 20 years since the centre first opened its doors to new students . 20 years of following my passion of guiding , nurturing, developing , instructing , enlightening, directing , training !
My heartiest thanks to all the students , parents and staff for your endless support as, without you , it simply would not have happened .

Hello everyone. Before I wish you a Happy New Year 2021, here are some of the highlights of 2020, which has proved to be challenging in more ways than one. It all changed with the 1st lockdown in March, with virtual classes being the new norm.

Enrolment packs were sent out to new families, and assessments also carried out virtually. Worksheets were prepared and packed and pick-up points arranged while those living a fair distance were posted theirs in order to provide continued study. Reminders were sent out for weekly scores to be forwarded.

As parents, you faced the biggest challenges, as you juggled working from home, online school learning , sharing of devices for zoom sessions etc . The results have been amazing as students continued not only to progress but also , achieved their goals. This has impacted on students sitting entrance exams for secondary schools as all have succeeded in gaining entry to a school of their choice. Huge congratulations to all. I am so proud of your efforts.

In particular, I want to mention one student, Matteo, whose daily schedule of activities I shared with you during summer when he allotted 2 time slots to Kumon everyday,one for completing his worksheets and the other for corrections. He also reached ASHR3 which translates into doing work 3 years above school level . Since then, he passed the neighbouring Borough grammar test with flying colours and, also passed the music foundation at another neighbouring music foundation school.
