This week WhyComics? is featuring Zein's story, for students 7 years and up!

For Zein's story, click here: http://whycomics.org/zein

Despite North London being the one he has known, Zein describes the day-to-day discrimination he faced as early as ten years old.

Student can begin to think of the discrimination that exists around them, and how its persistence can provide debilitating for children and adolescents in their daily routines.

For younger students, issues of speaking a different language at home from the one used at school could be discussed as was the case for Zein.

Why Comics? Educational Charity: Using comics to supply displaced adolescents with sexual and reproductive health and rights education 18/12/2017

We are VERY excited to announce that we are one of the winners of the OpenIDEO's challenge: "How might we provide comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services to girls and women affected by conflict or disaster?"

Please take a look at our proposal as well as those of the other winners, here!!:
https://challenges.openideo.com/challenge/reproductive-health/final-review

Comics are an accessible way to educate young girls about their sexual and reproductive health as well as their rights, particularly in times of conflict where girls and women can be effected by compounding discriminations in regards to their health.

In the past, some of our most well received comics have been created with the goal of dismantling some of the barriers that young girls experience in accessing education and health services, as well as addressing young people struggling with sexual and gender identities. Our comic "Born Julia and Julius" is a perfect example of how comics can be used as educational resources in this context.

Born Julis and Julius is found here: http://whycomics.org/born-julia-and-julius
