Great to see this review of Jenny Lund Madsen's Under the Blazing Sun, published by Orenda Books on 21 May. Only two days to go!!
"Paul Russell Garrett’s translation draws the reader into the sun-drenched Sicilian landscape while keeping the pace taut. Think less rain-soaked Nordic bleakness and more heat-haze intrigue, with the genre’s familiar beats played in an intentionally off-key rhythm.Under the Blazing Sun may not be conventional Nordic noir, but this flight from Denmark to Sicily will offer plenty of wry smiles for fans of the genre in a clever, double-pronged approach."

This week I'm heading to Oslo to take part in my first CEATL AGM, where I'll be representing the UK Translators Association. I look forward to meeting old friends and new, including some of these amazing people from literary translator associations across Europe.
CEATL, the European Council of Literary Translators' Associations, has 38 member associations from 30 countries across Europe, representing some 12,000 literary translators.

This weekend Trine and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary with the best friends, colleagues and neighbours two people could ask for. Thanks to everyone who has been part of our lives over the years – tusind tak alle sammen!
As for the secret to a long marriage, I still haven't found the key ...
