Here are details of my concert with with brilliant violinists Julia Dräger and Sylvia Eisermann next Sunday: 5:00 pm on 21 January at Alexander Pope’s parish church of St Mary’s CE church, Twickenham. Inspirational music of hope and light: just right for long, dark winter evenings. It would be so lovely to see friends there.

There are many reasons why smart, focused practice wins hands down over over mindless repetition - particularly if we have high expectations of making music for an audience. Here are some of them: well worth a read if you’ve ever felt frustrated that that your recital would be great if only the planets were aligned and bars 37-45 went well. Performance coaching is partly about engaging the brain early, in the right way, to communicate what we want and establishing an effective strategy for rehearsal so that we can reproduce good results under pressure.
