๐๐ซ Library Trip ๐ซ๐
To celebrate World Book Day our toddler children made an early trip to the library where they got to explore a large range of books. They were encouraged to independently select their own books before settling down to read them together.
Whatโs your little ones favourite storybook?

๐โค๏ธ๐ Sunshine Reflections ๐โค๏ธ๐
As the days have been getting brighter the toddler children have shown such fascination in the sun rays poking through their windows. They decided to make their own stain glassed windows in the shape of a butterfly. This has caused some beautiful different coloured rays of light poking through in their room, which the children have loved to observe and witness.
We are here for the brighter and warmer days ๐

โค๏ธ๐ฅข๐จ๐ณ Chinese New Year ๐จ๐ณ๐ฅขโค๏ธ
๐ซ To celebrate the start of the 2026 Lunar Calendar, our preschool children took a trip to their local Chinese supermarket, Loong Fung. The children explored the supermarket with great curiosity, spotting traditional decorations and signs and learning about what foods and meals might be celebrated at the table during this festival.
๐ At the nursery children engaged in a range of activities from learning how to use chopsticks to pick up noodles, to reading all about the year of the Horse and the traditional customs. Children were exposed to a variety of Chinese print, where they could explore different ways of making marks and signs.
Wishing everyone who celebrates a wonderful and very happy new year.

๐ซ๐ Tinkyโs Belonging Tree ๐๐ซ
Place2Beโs theme for Childrenโs Mental Health Week was โThis is my Place.โ A theme all about belonging and acceptance, an important message amongst children and young adults.
Our preschool and toddler children made a belonging tree which included heart shaped flowers where children had drawn pictures of things that made them happy and where they felt like they belonged.
We had some lovely messages of โMy friend is what makes me happy,โ โmy purple teddy makes me happy,โ and of course lots of responses of their mummyโs and daddyโs is where they felt they most belonged.
A great message to share with all of our little ones!

๐โค๏ธ๐๐ The Colour Monster ๐๐โค๏ธ๐
The colour monster is all confused, can you help him to sort out his feelings?
A wonderful, interactive, and engaging activity for our little ones during Childrenโs Mental Health Week 2026.
The colour monster is a highly recommended book to teach little ones about their emotions. Each emotion has a colour to match the feeling, for example yellow for happy. This really supports little ones when labelling their emotions as they can relate to the colours before the emotion, especially in the early stages.
ย
There have been many discussions around feelings and emotions this week, talking about what makes us happy, what makes us sad and what makes us angry. Talking about these is a great way to get children discussing ways they can solve conflict by themselves and how to be kind to others.

๐ Obstacle Courses ๐
Preschool children have been exploring a range of movement outside in their garden. Using a carefully thought out obstacle course the children practiced different ways of moving such as climbing, balancing, stepping and jumping, all supporting their gross motor movements.
Obstacle courses are a great way to get children moving in the outdoor area, whilst having to follow instructions and wait for their turn.

๐๐ Independent Life Skills ๐๐
ย
Pulling up a zip or doing up buttons seem like second nature to adults, however for children it is a skill that needs to be taught and learned. Our preschool children have been learning about these skills. As clothes were laid out on the table the children were encouraged to practice doing up zips, buttons and even folding clothes.
ย
Giving children the time to practice these skills will not just encourage independence but also give them more confidence when dressing themselves!

Our baby room staff have been focusing on supporting their little ones with strengthening their arm muscles and core strength through this super fun and interactive activity.
As the children lay down and held 2 crayons in their hands, a member of staff carefully pulled them by their legs to make marks on the paper.
There were so many giggles coming from the baby room as many of them wanted to repeat this over and over again!
