This award highlights the contributions of registered Indian Societies at UK universities that have launched India-focused projects, greatly enriching the cultural landscape and fostering a deeper connection between the two countries. The Study UK - British Council Alumni Awards celebrate the exceptional achievements of international UK alumni around the world. They honor leaders who have utilized their UK education to make significant contributions to their communities, industries, and countries. Award categories include Business and Innovation, Culture and Creativity, Science and Sustainability, and Social Action.
In addition to Miracule and Doris, the other shortlisted alumni are Lucas Paoli Itaborahy from Brazil, Clemence Lebatteux from France, and Fanni Suto from France. Congratulations to all the Roehampton alumni! ๐ ๐

We were pleased to present Stephanie Slater with the honorary title of Doctor of the University during our final ceremony of the day. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as we celebrated her dedication and inspiration, making it a fitting conclusion to a remarkable day of honouring excellence. ๐๐ฅ๐ฅช
Stephanie Slater is the Founder and Chief Executive at School Food Matters. She set up the charity in 2007 after successfully campaigning to improve the food at her childrenโs primary school. In 2012, she was invited to join the School Food Planโs expert panel, tasked by the Department of Education to create an action plan to help head teachers improve school food. Stephanie is now co-chair of the School Food Alliance.

During our third ceremony, we were delighted to award the title of honorary Doctor of Letters to Joseph Coelho OBE, FRSL. This recognition celebrates his significant contributions to literature and the arts, honoring his creative spirit and commitment to inspiring others through his work. ๐ญ๐
Joseph Coelho OBE, FRSL, is a best-selling, multi-award-winning childrenโs playwright and author of over 50 books. His YA โStory told in the poem โThe Girl Who Became A Treeโ was shortlisted for The 2021 Carnegie Medal and received a special mention from the Bologna Ragazzi Award 2021. He has written plays for Little Angel Theatre, Tutti Frutti Productions, Polka Theatre and The Unicorn Theatre, amongst others. ๐

It was amazing to have our Chancellor Baroness Sandy Verma confer degrees during our third Graduation Ceremony. The ceremony not only highlighted the hard work and dedication of each student but also emphasized the importance of education in shaping the future. It was a day to remember, marking a significant milestone for all involved. ๐ซถ๐ฏ

It was wonderful to award Trevor D. Sterling an honorary Doctor of Laws at our second ceremony of the day during . ๐งโโ๏ธ โ๏ธโ
Trevor is a Senior Partner at Moore Barlow Lawyers, where he established a dedicated and award-winning Major Trauma Service focusing on rehabilitation. He sits on the firmโs Partnership Council and has a leading role in Diversity and Inclusion. In 2021, he became the first black Senior Partner in a top 100 UK law firm. ๐ฏ

We were delighted to welcome back our esteemed alumnus, Rhiannon Lambert, who took the time to return as an inspirational speaker. Her presence brought a wealth of insight and motivation, as she shared her remarkable journey and experiences since graduating. ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฏ โจ๐ฌ
2024 Chancellorโs Alumni Award Winner, Rhiannon Lambert is one of the UK's leading Registered Nutritionists, with a first-class BSc in Nutrition and Health, an MSc in Obesity Risks and Prevention and a Master Practitioner in the Psychological interventions to eating disorders.

We are thrilled to announce that Carol Baxter CBE has been awarded an honorary Doctor of the University during today's graduation celebrations. ๐๐ฅ๐ฉโโ๏ธ
Professor Carol Baxter CBE began her training as a nurse, midwife, and health visitor in the North of England during the 1970s. She has had a diverse career, locally and nationally, working across the health, voluntary, and academic sectors. Throughout her career, she has focused on addressing health inequities and promoting health equity across the system through her research, publications, practice, and advocacy aimed at transforming public sector culture, particularly within the NHS.

The January graduation ceremonies have officially commenced at the iconic Royal Festival Hall, located within the vibrant Southbank Centre. During the opening ceremony, we were honoured to have our Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jean-Noรซl Ezingeard, who took the stage to confer degrees upon our outstanding graduates. ๐๐๐

A warm welcome to all new and returning students. A fantastic turn out to our Refreshers Fair held at Digby Chapel, where students got the chance to find out more about all the clubs, societies and student support services we have on offer at Roehampton. ๐๐ค๐ป๐พ๐น๐ช๐ผ๐น๏ธ
