Ten years is a long time in security—and an extraordinary time to witness real transformation.

For the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of working as a senior security consultant with MOL Group in Hungary. It has been a fascinating journey: watching the Group Security function fundamentally re-form itself to address a rapidly evolving threat landscape, while simultaneously supporting MOL’s expansion into new geographies and business models. Few organisations manage that kind of transition with seriousness, discipline, and vision; MOL has done so with conviction.

On 6 February, Tibor Varga, Group Security Director, kindly awarded me a recognition marking these ten years of collaboration. It was a genuinely mixed moment—real pleasure at the acknowledgement, deep satisfaction at the very concrete results we have achieved together, and, above all, appreciation for the close professional relationships and friendships that have grown along the way.

I’m grateful to Tibor and his international team, and to the wider MOL business for their trust, openness, and relentless professionalism. It has been a privilege to contribute to work that truly matters—and to do so with people who combine strategic clarity with human warmth.

Looking back with pride, and forward with enthusiasm!

Bullies at Work: Digital Harassment is Becoming a Workplace Risk Across the UK and Europe 04/02/2026

Safer Internet Day (10 February) isn’t just about children. It’s also about how adults work.

Bullying hasn’t disappeared in digital workplaces — it’s evolved. Today it happens through emails, group chats, performance dashboards, and AI-driven management tools.

This isn’t just an HR problem. It’s a governance and resilience risk hiding in plain sight.

Who is most affected? Why are women disproportionately targeted? And how do digital tools quietly amplify harm?

For , I look at why workplace cyber-bullying is a structural risk of modern organisations — and why awareness alone isn’t enough.

The UK NCSC’s latest warning on hacktivist-driven disruption is not a UK-specific anomaly. When placed in a wider European context, it aligns closely with what many EU member states are already experiencing—persistent, politically motivated denial-of-service activity targeting public-facing services.

What differs across Europe is not the threat itself, but how governments choose to communicate it. Some issue explicit public warnings; others embed the same assessments quietly within technical reporting. The substance, however, is remarkably consistent: availability and service continuity have become strategic assets in a hybrid threat environment.

Our Chairman Richard Knowlton’s latest analysis examines how closely EU experience matches the NCSC’s assessment, why public messaging varies, and what this means for boards and senior leaders responsible for operational resilience—not just cybersecurity.

We’ve just completed our latest collaboration with the Defence College, a week long course for senior Saudi managers from the public and private sectors on “Strategic Trade Controls and Compliance”.

As always, our Saudi friends were an extremely stimulating group, constantly challenging received wisdoms and conventional approaches.

Altogether an excellent course hosted in the beautiful and historic Worcester College in the University of Oxford.
