Today, we proudly celebrated National Thank A Teacher Day, taking time to recognise the incredible impact our teachers (and at MHS we mean all of the staff that work with our students) have on the lives of young people every single day.

Throughout the day, we were delighted to hear heartfelt messages from students, parents, and staff sharing their appreciation for the teachers who have inspired, encouraged, and supported them on their journey. The stories we received were a powerful reminder that great teachers do far more than teach lessons, they build confidence, nurture potential, and help shape futures.

This year’s celebrations were made even more special as we reflected on our recent achievement of receiving a Bronze National Teaching Award. This recognition is a testament to the dedication, passion, and commitment of our staff, who go above and beyond to ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed.

The value of a great teacher cannot be measured simply by grades or qualifications. A teacher’s encouragement can spark a lifelong passion, open doors to exciting opportunities, and give a child the belief that they can achieve more than they ever imagined. The influence of a teacher can last a lifetime, helping to shape the leaders, innovators, and changemakers of tomorrow.

To all our staff – thank you for your unwavering dedication, your kindness, your resilience, and the difference you make every day. You inspire futures, change lives, and leave a lasting legacy in every child you teach.

We were delighted to welcome our CEO, Warrick Sharp, to Meridian High School to celebrate our recent achievement of receiving the Bronze Award for Making a Difference.

During his visit, Warrick met with our student leaders to discuss the award, reflect on the positive impact they have made within our school community, and hear about the initiatives that have helped us achieve this recognition. Their passion, commitment, and leadership were evident throughout the conversation and are a testament to the values we strive to promote at Meridian.

A huge congratulations to our students and staff for their dedication and hard work in making a real difference. We are incredibly proud of this achievement and look forward to continuing our journey towards even greater success.
