Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery East Sheen

This is Nicole from Shakers Kids! Every Wednesday, she visits our Babies, Tweenies, Toddlers, and Preschool children at Monkey Puzzle East Sheen for a fun-filled fitness session. The children love getting active, building confidence, and developing new skills while having lots of fun along the way!

Our aromatic mini sensory trays inspired by Italy 🇮🇹🌿

The children explored a variety of textures, colours and scents through hands-on sensory play using traditional Italian produce and natural ingredients. From smelling fresh herbs and oils to investigating different foods Italy is famous for, the trays created a wonderful opportunity for curiosity, exploration and learning through the senses.

A beautiful way to spark conversations about culture, food and traditions while encouraging imaginative and sensory-rich play.

The children had so much fun learning how to make pizza the traditional Italian way — talking about the ingredients, preparing the dough and discovering that authentic Italian pizza is stretched by hand rather than rolled with a rolling pin!

A fantastic hands-on experience filled with learning, creativity and delicious smells throughout the room. Thank you for sharing your skills and traditions with us!

The children loved exploring traditional Italian produce using all of their senses — smelling, touching, tasting and learning about the foods Italy is famous for. We especially enjoyed hearing your stories about growing up in Italy and picking fresh produce with your families back home. ❤️

A special Story Time moment! 📚🇮🇹

Yesterday, the big sister of one of our Tweenies came in after school to share a story from home in Italian with the children. It was a wonderful experience, celebrating language, culture, and the joy of storytelling.

At our nursery, Story Time isn’t just for parents – any family member can get involved. Whether it’s a sibling, grandparent, aunt, uncle, or another special family member, sharing a story helps build children’s confidence and self-esteem while strengthening their connection to family and community.

We’re a family-focused nursery, and when you join us, the whole family becomes part of our nursery family. ❤️
