At ISE 26, we’ll be showcasing two of our key initiatives:

Secured by Design - the official UK security initiative, helping to improve the security of buildings, products and places through proven crime prevention principles, as well as products and apps

Police Crime Prevention Academy - providing specialist crime prevention and professional development for those working to prevent crime

Congratulations to Yeovil Crime Reduction Team on achieving National Standards Accreditation from Police Crime Prevention Initiatives (Police CPI).

This accreditation recognises that the partnership has met the highest standards of governance, management and information sharing, demonstrating its commitment to creating safer town centres and supporting local businesses, employees and communities.

Working alongside retailers, licensed premises, local authorities, police and community partners, Yeovil Crime Reduction Team plays a vital role in tackling business crime, anti-social behaviour and repeat offending across Yeovil and the surrounding areas.

Designed to support those responsible for managing licensed premises, the guidance brings together practical advice, policing expertise and recognised good practice to help venues identify risks, strengthen safety measures and support safer experiences for staff, customers and communities.

Police Crime Prevention Initiatives (Police CPI) is pleased to launch Safer Spaces: Crime Prevention Guidance for Licensed Premises, a new resource designed to support licensed premises in creating safer, more secure environments for staff, customers and local communities.

Developed through the Licensing Security and Vulnerability Initiative (Licensing SAVI), the guidance brings together policing expertise and recognised good practice to help those responsible for managing licensed premises identify risks, strengthen safety measures and support effective venue management.

Covering areas including staff training and welfare, customer safety, preventing anti-social behaviour and violence (including knife crime, other weapons-related offences and serious violence), drink spiking, supporting vulnerable people, emergency planning, physical security, CCTV, fire safety, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design and incident management, the guidance provides practical advice to support safer venues and a safer night-time economy.

Safer Spaces is available now for licensed operators, policing partners and anyone involved in supporting safe and well-managed licensed premises.
