This was delivered by Jamil Khan, who has been involved in the Islamic Dawah field for the past 20 years, giving khutbahs in various masajid, a presenter on the Arabic Al Wa’ee channel, and has written well received articles on ‘Protecting Khilafah's internal security' and 'Considerations when Raising Children in the West'.

In this address the speaker explained how the young general Tariq Ibn Ziyad (rh) conquered Spain and the Muslims then ruled by Islam for over 781 years. But how did they lose Spain? It was actually more an internal infighting that led to one group of the Muslims allying with the ‘enemies’(?!) who later betrayed them. What allowed Muslims to ally with the enemies?

The speaker then mentioned how Muslims had to leave and some stayed behind. Its similarity can be witnessed in recent history where many of the Muslims had to leave their own lands (due to colonialism) and come to UK as emigrants, so to return back to their ‘home’. But overtime, just within decades, many have settled as national citizens. Not only have they forgotten or gone completely of their track but have neglected a major concept that made the Muslims the leaders of the World, like before, where they were the conquerors and liberators, and not the conquered. What is this concept?

The speaker brings number of stats and realities to prove the point that these secular-liberal government do indeed regulate the economy around the rich elite in the false concept that “helping the rich helps the economy”.

He then contrasts it with the Islamic ruling system bringing both rational evidence and textual proof of why the success of nations are measured by its treatment of the weakest members of the society.

“Many celebrities with a bad past and questionable lifestyles have become Muslim including Sinead O Conner, Joram van Klaveren, Mutah Beale aka Napoleon etc but never have we seen so much controversy among the Muslims when Andrew Tate converted to Islam!

Arguments are piling up from demeaning women to encouraging domestic violence! His past sins are forgiven (no doubt, though some are reluctant to accept) but what is argued that cannot be ignored is the impact of his previous actions that is still present today and perhaps growing since his conversion! There appears to be two extremes: one portraying him as some sort of “saviour” while the other a “hypocrite” using Islam.

In the iDawah Circle we try to address both cultural educational Islamic topics and live relevant political issues from the perspective of Islam, so to make Islam a living reality.
