The children in Tweenie Room at Monkey Puzzle Welling have been exploring colour mixing whilst creating their own paper plate jelly fish using a variety of creative materials such as paintbrushes, crayons and tissue paper. The children used these resources to explore different colours, patterns and textures.
The Early Years Educator used lots of descriptive language whilst talking about jelly fish and supported the children with their colour recognition

The Mini- Pre-School children at Monkey Puzzle Welling have been exploring a tuff tray based on their favourite story ‘Monkey Puzzle’.
The children were able to retell the story to their Early Years Educator, moving the monkey through the sensory jungle where he encountered different animals until he found his mum. The children were able to use their favourite words and phases from the story whilst the Early Years Educator introduced descriptive language.
This delightful activity helps to develop the children’s imagination whilst strengthening their memory recall and mathematical knowledge.

The Pre-School children have been investigating physical forces.
The children eagerly took the magnetic wands to investigate what was magnetic within their room. They excitedly announced to their Early Years Educator that it stuck to the radiator, the chair legs and the role play equipment but that it did not stick to an Educator's hair. The children then noticed that they stick to each other. The Early years Educator introduced words such as magnetic, scientist and investigate.
This hands-on experiment teaches cause and effect, polarity and spatial awareness whilst encouraging the children to use their problem solving abilities

At our nursery in Welling the mini preschool children had a wonderful time exploring self-hygiene. They spoke about the importance of self-hygiene and the various ways to stay clean. We spoke about hand washing , having a bath or shower and what products can be used to help wash away the bacteria.
The children were then able to follow instructions and show their educators how to wash their hands correctly step by step.

At our nursery in Welling, the Tweenies had a wonderful time exploring natural resources while developing their creativity and fine motor skills. The children used crayons to create beautiful leaf prints and patterns, before using glue to carefully stick the leaves onto their artwork. They showed great creativity and enthusiasm throughout the activity. Well done, Tweenies! 🍂🎨
